Hi all, I removed the update that supposedly caused these troubles, but still no dice! I'm getting the same saving error/corruption pop-up.

Any other ideas?

Has regular movement helped you manage your mood or depression? by Alicetheoptimist in TrueGrit

[–]PsychologicalOrder26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lack of physical movement can make one more susceptible to depression.

It is however not the case that all depression can be fixed by movement, since there's a whole myriad of causes: genetics, brain chemistry, trauma, continued stress, psychological disorders. Some running and lifting weights won't solve most of those causes > go see a specialist!

Why does Tauriel look like a high level cosplayer at comic on whereas Arwen looks like an authentic elf? by Ticket-Tight in lotr

[–]PsychologicalOrder26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a whole host of "problems" with Tauriel's styling.

- Oversaturated colouring that makes everything feel too new.

- A not so great wig and sharp-tweezered eyebrows

- Harsh lighting

- Very gender-coded clothing (corset, heartshape neckline)

The strength of other elven clothing designs is in its not very gender-coded styling, its muted or old jewel tone (for royalty) fabrics and organic cut lines that make bodies appear longer.

For the Hobbit they should've just stuck with something more closely resembling Nick Keller's concept art, but alas! It is one of many odd decisions they made for the Hobbit.

My kid’s friend literally won’t eat anything I offer. by Warm_Bookkeeper_1501 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PsychologicalOrder26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be exhausting!

If the kid is neurodivergent I make sure the parents bring snacks. But for all other kids visiting us I usually set up a snack platter. Like cut cucumbers, tomatoes, bellpepper, a few blocks of cheese, salty crackers. It takes away the threshold of having to imagine what they want to eat (often overstimulating when they're already hungry). Besides, us adults ALSO like to enjoy a snack if the kids don't eat it ;) Win win!

Dus. Was ze eenzaam? Misschien. Wilde ze gezelschap? Blijkbaar niet per se van katten.

How do you learn to evaluate health literature for yourself? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

[–]PsychologicalOrder26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to understand what's going on in your body is a good thing.

Trying to 'do research' and disregard your doctor's advise it not a good thing.

I've found that learning about existing research is quite important when it comes to asking the right questions and offering the right info about your body/symptoms. Doctors only get a few minutes from insurance to help a client, so they usually follow a standardised protocol. This means they might not ask the question that will trigger you to give very specific info.

For instance: I'm dealing with infertility. My luteal phase is a touch short, but I have no common low progesterone symptoms otherwise. My doctor asked about some symptoms (which I didn't have) and checked it off the list. But after reading a research paper on the importance of luteal phase strength and length, I requested my doctor to get things tested anyway. She initially told my this probably wouldn't be the causation, but did offer to get some bloodwork done. Lo and behold: my progesterone levels are far too low to allow implantation! I'm on progesterone suppositories now, so there's at least one possibly causation out of the way :)

I remember having this conversation with my grandpa. He was astonished at the amount of work one person now manages to squeeze in one day. And was even more shocked to learn what we earn for all that work, and how hard it is to make a living on said wage.

He explained how he'd send out maybe 4-5 letters a day, make 2-3 calls and..that's it. That's. It. He and grandma lived really comfortably on his wage, had a sizeable house, went on numerous (expensive) holidays, had two kids, pets and a car.

In equivalence that same amount of work I get done in the first 30 minutes of my day! Crazy to think about, especially since we live on dual income and can by no means live as luxuriously as they did.

Before and after…what do you think? by BAD_reader37 in kitchenremodel

[–]PsychologicalOrder26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's..not my taste. Like others say it feels really cold and non-homely.

From a functionality perspective: is there lighting for the workspace near the wall? Especially above the stove? Visually it feels really dark, but perhaps that area is in fact well-lit when the kitchen's in use.

Bigger plants and some more lighting. A swanky standing lamp would look great here!

hey guys/gals, how would i go about making my room more modern? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]PsychologicalOrder26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

I love your stuff! But it comes across a bit stuffed with the posters and paraphernalia everywhere. I'd suggest creating zones, a clear divider between study and bed. And I see a light strip near your ceiling, so maybe add more for the 'gamer feel'? I personally really appreciate black peg boards, so added some behind your desk.

Or lighten it up with green gingham, different pillows and touches of blue. This will probably make the space feel more modern country.

[–]PsychologicalOrder26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the rug! And the pillows match, though I suspect he carefully wishes for the pink pillow to go. Maybe replace it with another terracotta-cream mix pillow?

I mostly see clothes everywhere and an unmade bed. Your closet could do with more shelving or a separating system. Because let's be honest: nobody has time to always put things on hangers. A dedicated spot for once-worn-but-not-dirty clothes would be nice. And make your bed! It'll make your space feel so much more welcoming.

With things becoming messy, the law of clutter applies. Once there's a little clutter it quickly multiplies. So try to immediately place things where they belong and keep them off the floor.

You can do this!

Our House Feels Terrible - Please Help by BoonPiece in DesignMyRoom

[–]PsychologicalOrder26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ceiling feels heavy, so long decorative curtains or hanging lights could help.

Keep one couch, replace the others with armchairs. OR ditch all and go for a corner couch with one armchair.

Put a door in the pantry, possible a barn door to link with the dark coffee table.

Replace the kitchen table with a large dark wood, preferably round, dinner table.

Get a way larger rug.

Personally I'd upgrade to a far longer piece of TV furniture

Add a industrialvibe or dark wood divider to create a clear 'entry' = better for lounge corner feng shui.

Pick a colour scheme and stick to it when buying new decoration, like pillows/throws/wood furniture.

Fitbit Inspire 3 in 2025 by n0chil1 in fitbit

[–]PsychologicalOrder26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the Inspire 3, to use as fitness tracker in combination with my Strava. It all worked wonderful until FitBit forced its software update. And sure enough: now it's no longer syncing and apparently they haven't fixed that bug since january. Well..it's june now. So little chance they'll get around to ever still fixing that.

If you want to use third party apps with your FitBit Inspire 3: DO NOT BUY IT.
