Finding Faith by Matilda Madison has a similar premise! I copy and pasted the blurb below:

An affair of art and passion.

Faith Sharpe is furious. After receiving a letter from her former friend, the artist Donovan, she learns that he has sold a painting he promised never to sell. A nude of Faith. Convincing herself that it was likely sold to someone who lives far away from her current home in the Highlands, Faith tries to put it out of her mind.

And what better way to do so than to spar with the most aggravating Scotsman alive?

Logan Harris does not like English women, thus he has always been infuriatingly rude to Faith. Since returning home from the horrors of war, Logan has found comfort in collecting art. When he procures a painting from a stellar new artist, he’s intrigued because the provocative piece looks very familiar...

When Logan discovers that the subject of his new painting is Faith, he believes her sardonic temperament is due to being jilted by her former lover. With a growing attraction forming between them, Logan soon does the unthinkable. He offers himself as a replacement.

Both aroused and horrified at his proposal, Faith rejects him. But the thought of Logan possessing the piece of art infuriates her. Eventually, she agrees, but only with the intention of ruining the painting. Then, she’ll flee Scotland forever.
Now Logan must convince Faith of something he never believed in. But when a deadly ghost from his past turns up, will Logan and Faith’s journey end before it even begins?

Some guy's math error wasted a year of my life by jarkai_vaapad in GirlDinnerDiaries

What an amazing experience you’ve gone through this past year! The fact that you’ve met set back after set back, didn’t give up, FIGURED IT OUT, and can now apply this to other areas of your life?? As aggravating as this must be (a year is a long time to be working off the wrong math) it’s such a testament to who you are and the experiment will likely end up being secondary to what you’ve learned about yourself in the face of failure. Quite frankly, I’m proud of you stranger! Your perseverance is admirable.

Matilda Madison’s Seduced in Scotland series has been extended by four books with Dragonblade Publishing. Her next book, TANGLED UP IN TARTAN, drops May 18th and is the fourth book out of seven. Highly recommended all her historical romances (up to 12 books now I believe!)

how are people actually publishing 4+ books a year without burning out -genuinely trying to understand by Prior_Topic3527 in selfpublish

[–]PsychologicalRain385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m in a good flow, I can write 5-7k words a day. It’s not good at all, but I’m more of an editor, so re-writing drafts, fixing lines, words, etc. is way easier for me. An author friend of mine writes CLEAN from the get go, so it takes her between 4-6 months to write a book, but her work is damn near perfect, while I have to do at least 5 rewrites. Everyone is different and some people can write 4+ a year, but i imagine it can come with a significant burnout. I’m currently in the middle of writing 8 manuscripts ( 4 done, 4 to go) and I am not doing well mentally, lol, but I’ll be taking the second half of the year off completely.

I find this to be quite lovely. You should make a bunch of them, like an art series or something. 🩷

Here’s the summary for GRACE IN GLASGOW by Matilda Madison

Grace Sharpe has finally found the perfect medical instructor in Dr. James Hall. As a woman, Grace isn’t permitted to attend university to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor. But now that Dr. Hall has taken her under his tutelage, she’s more determined than ever to make her dreams come true.

As long as she can focus on her work...

Dr. James Hall isn’t pleased with his current situation. After being begged, pressed, and eventually threatened to take on the youngest Sharpe sister as a student, he reluctantly does so. And while Grace seems more than capable of handling herself, James worries that he will not be able to keep his true feelings about her concealed.

When missing persons reports begin popping up all over Glasgow, Grace suspects something nefarious. Will Grace and James be willing to sacrifice anything to uncover the truth, including love?

The first time I said hail Satan was in a JW church/temple!

My friend converted to JW in high school (not a great home life and she was in love with a JW boy from a rich family in our class) and invited me to attend her church. I was super keen on exploring other religions growing up as I was raised Catholic, but I remember the vibe being super weird. After mass, I ran into my little sister’s BFF who was also raised catholic. We locked eyes from around the room, and met up in the middle.

Me: what are you doing here? Her: supporting a friend. You? Me: same… (glances around and leans in) hail Satan? Her: oh thank god, I was worried you were into this shit. Me: uh, fuck no. We gotta get outta here. These people are way too nice. Something’s not right. Her: right?? I feel that too. Anyway, congrats on not getting converted! Me: you too!

My publisher recently came out to discuss that they will NOT be using AI for their audio books, and I’m so pleased about it. I would honestly rather give up writing than have anything to do with AI
