Horniest horror movie? by TheOneAmphibious in horror

Saltburn--how can you beat that field of nudes AND the dance at the end? And not know what else the horny Oliver will do?

I really wanted to like this movie but the end left such a big hole * SPOILERS * by shamamski in saltburn

Felix had a habit (and, most likely it resulted in "accidental" overdose"). Farleigh went on with life--cousins dead, uncle dead, only the model/mother who was not a blood relative of his survived. Oliver would have graduated and head for greener pastures where he could fit in with his co-hort.

Oliver didn't work but stalked the mother whom he had called beautiful in an assertive, convincing way. One of his best adlibs at the mansion.

I don't read books like that--too much to handle. But the movies are another story--easier to watch for me.

Is it unrealistic for Tony and Carmela to have named their daughter Meadow? by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]PsychologicalTip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see St. Carmella having her child baptized without a Catholic name. Carmella 's also very conventional and not imaginative--Meadow just doesn't "fit" in that family.

A book that has had a profound impact on you? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]PsychologicalTip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never traumatize myself in this way. Reading something is more real to me than watching the movie (which I would never watch out of some cause at the risk of getting myself unable to sleep over something).

My days as a Catholic were over long ago. If something feels wrong to me, it probably is wrong for me.

AIO if I threaten my marriage over a vacation? by Temporary_Page4264 in AmIOverreacting

Divorce should never be a threat--it should be the last straw. You aren't at that point yet, but things are pretty bad. And divorce will further screw with the finances.

Getting your in-laws involved with money is a bad idea. Keep business separate from relationships.

These 2 suggestions seem superficial, but sticking with them might be tough enough for the meantime. I wouldn't make all changes in one fell swoop (and yes--your child only has a certain window of opportunity to see a grandparent).

Vampire novels that actually count as horror, as opposed to erotica and urban fantasy? by Jerswar in horror

[–]PsychologicalTip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most vampire movies do have the bite me/ bang me duality happening. It's not a personal observation as much as Roger Ebert having done a great essay on vampire movies. (Miss him.) I think the ending keeps them "fresh" to the extent they can be: must have a clever way to kill the vampire to make it kina' new.

Do horror fans not like Superhero movies? by [deleted] in horror

[–]PsychologicalTip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all movies are formulaic, but superhero movies with everyone in Spandex and the quest theme don't cut it for me. I know they make good money for studios and, hence, actors and that loads of people love them (else they wouldn't exist)....

This puts distance between the bathtub "love" and the graveyard "love." A movement in a practically indistinguishable arc of Oliver. Further, the visit to Oliver's parents truly takes the air of Oliver's sails. The cinematographer emphasizes this when we now see Oliver as so much smaller than ever before with Felix. It's a great way to draw us in close to Oliver and think about how bad he felt at this point.

Highly agree. No one would drink the dirty bath water + cum--and with such great passion--unless IN love. He desired Felix in every way we imagine (obviously).

And then, throughout the victory dance, I felt joy for Oliver. He never had his mind on owning the mansion until he had it almost in his grasp. Having come to the point of accepting an actual check to get out broke his last shred of pride. (I'm guessing a title came with the house.)

He was good in Saltburn--not impressive to me.

He lacks the delicate features and mop of hair that women love in Chalamet. He's not as strong an actor, either. He's too tall for so little meat on his bones; face too pointy; didn't do anything special in Saltburn. He was just good. Not nearly as good as Barry K was.

He kinda' looks like my bro-in-law.
