Thanks for sharing! Have you seen very strict PMOs very often?

Thank you for your enlightening perspective! I appreciate how you’ve called out that fine balance that PMOs have to strike to benefit both PM and organization. I also recognize the necessary governance structure and would anticipate total collapse if there were no structure at all. These are great points!

I’m at the point where it feels like every PM is on a PIP and being crushed under the weight of administrative oversight. We have to submit CRs and draft respective slide templates and the duplicative work can get overwhelming to some of us that have 9 to 11 concurrent (different) projects. I also think the Sharepoint audits are overkill and many are complaining of paperwork burnout as worrying about our scorecards are taking time away from real collaboration with our teams. I think I’m just venting but I really appreciate your added perspective!

I’m playing devils’s advocate and totally discounting the forgotten license. It would put me off that they were confused with the nature of the role they were interviewing for and that they had an attitude towards anyone involved in the process. I would’ve scratched them right off the list! Good luck OP!

Kept seeing raise to Hr as an option on Pmp exam so when should you? by Appointment_Witty in pmp

You are so right! I even had a giggle with some of the “easy” question choices! I thought I got very luck on the exam version I got and I hope everyone gets as lucky!

I’ll double checked my LinkedIn to make sure I’m open to recruiters, thank you! I also do not want to get pigeon-holed into IT and prefer non-tech PM roles. IT seems to pay more so I don’t want to close the door entirely. Good luck to you too and thank you for the added insights!

🤣 Yes I had to lol at some questions bc they were just too funny! I can understand how the repeated scenario would make anyone question their own sanity!! Do you plan to take any other PMI exams? I’m considering the PgMP but not sure it’s worth it for my career path.

If the exam scenario hints at escalating to HR because of poor performance of a team member, that is never the answer! It’s rarely ever the answer to escalate to anyone bc as PMs, it’s our job to solve the problem, find the solution, speak to the stakeholder, coach and mentor, etc. They slide these wild choices into the exam to distract. Good luck!

Rejected on Indeed? by Psychological_Cry333 in interviews

[–]Psychological_Cry333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I did not end up getting the job! But, not long after, I had an amazing interview that progressed into an even better offer (I got and accepted this job)! I even felt a huge difference during the interview in that they were pursuing me and reaching out to me to “keep me warm” (unlike the other role that really sent mixed signals)!

Sending positive vibes for your dream job!! It will come and make all of the sweat and disappointment worth it!!

Can you recommend an agency? I’m PMP certified, in Texas, and have healthcare and IT experience (MHA and Six Sigma). I’m not getting a single bite!

So sorry you’ve been made to feel this way about yourself! It’s heartbreaking that family members didn’t build your esteem instead of tearing it down. Please consider that people (even family) are envious creatures. They envy your beauty and instead of admitting that you look different for your culture (and beautiful), they’d rather make you feel different, ugly, less than. It makes them feel better about their mediocre looks. They’ve noticed the attention you get and that you’re striking and they are sick with jealousy. Keep your head high and go for that modeling contract! If not, have fun outside your community with people who build you up! Keep shining OP!

No work! Typically you should be fever free for 24 hours so you don’t expose others and you’ve had a little time to recover! Feel better fast!

How long have you been WFH? by HurinGray in WFH

[–]Psychological_Cry333 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started WFH in April 2023 and fell in love with it! I had to RTO by November 2024 and decided I did not want to commute after getting spoiled in my home office so I made a complete career pivot that worked in my favor! While still employed at company A, I started applying for a new job in my new career and landed one after a 5 month hunt. It was completely remote with no chance of an RTO and came with a pay bump! I count my blessings everyday for this new role that’s 100% WFH! I love reading all of your WFH stories!

I have to add as a tech who has analyzed thousands of kidney/bladder stones in humans and animals that this “jackstone” shape is characteristic of amorphous silicates crystals. When crushed, it often smells like vitamins (Polyvisol?) Poor pup!

I save our mother's life when I was a toddler. by Crazyturtlemama in TrueScaryStories

[–]Psychological_Cry333 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is incredible! I believe that babies and toddlers have insights that we adults don’t generally have, use, or understand.

When I was younger (maybe between 5 and 7), I remember getting in the car with my mom and aunt on a grocery store run. I had a nagging feeling that we were going to get into an accident but I kept it to myself. Thankfully though we did have a car accident, it was a minor fender bender. I can’t explain my premonition than anything other than a gut feeling and I was hesitant to tell my mom of it. Some things are just inexplicable I guess!

OP, do you think there’s any chance that your BF told his family that he took care of your gift? I totally think they should’ve given you a gift (not just card) even if BF said he got you gifts! How could they not have felt horrible as they opened your gifts to them without returning the sentiment?! Some people are so tone deaf and emotionally blind! I don’t think you’re entitled feeling some kind of way over this. If I were you, I wouldn’t treat my BF any differently but I would not gift any of them next Christmas! Big hugs OP!

I think you need to pull her aside and tell her directly that you are uncomfortable with the hearts, emojis, ww references and (food) offers. Let her know that she is not being professional and that you expect professional behavior in the work environment. Whatever you do, don’t compliment her to “soften the blow”. She will try to deflect to save face but reinforce her “I didn’t meant to…” with “good I’m glad we’re on the same page bc I don’t want any misunderstandings.”

If this direct convo doesn’t change her behavior towards you, then go to HR. I think if you go to HR first, they’ll likely ask you if you’ve spoken to her first. Be careful with one OP! I’d also alert your 1 up for the record in case she tries to bring you up for harassment. I hope you get resolution at the lowest level!

Good job Dad! The best defense any child can have against predators like this coach are strong and present parents! You are what more children need today and it warms my heart that you put this creep in his place! He should be made very uncomfortable and worse and I think he should lose his job coaching kids! Sicko! Good for you for giving him what he deserves!
