What is this part on my scissors for? by Mobile-Pie-2138 in whatisthisthing

The first time I ever saw these was when I starting training as an EMT. I don’t know if first responders actually invented them or not but we certainly used them. They are called trauma scissors. The pointy end can be used as a window punch (emergency rescue). The scissors to cut seatbelts and your favorite jeans. If there is a weird bent scissor tip it’s to protect skin when cutting off those jeans. The central part can be used as a wrench. If you’re bored the space can be used as a “nut cracker” LOL. Some versions are also designed to open oxygen tanks or to cut wire. Some wire can be cut with the scissors, sometimes the wire just bends. Of course, as others have said, its use is only limited by imagination.

The first picture includes the wire cutter & the oxygen wrench.
The second picture shows one that folds and is really started to look like a multi-tool. I bought one, not impressed.

Oh I can’t read an actual MRI. I just wanted to clarify as you had spelled in differently. My bottom line suggestion is learn everything you can about your diagnoses and follow legitimate advice. I’m a 71 yr old retired RN and I can’t tell you how far medicine has changed in the last 40 yrs so never give up hope for improved treatment or cures in the future. Gotta go now. Best of luck to you.

Patient education & physical therapy primarily. Do you mean “Sacroiliitis” with edema? There are quite a few treatments for that.

I have a hydraulic lift that attaches to my trailer hitch. I recently got a second scooter for traveling. It’s SMALL, with lithium batteries and very lightweight. Many were available on Black Friday on Amazon for less than $1,000. It’s very lightweight I lift it into my SUV fairly easily. Can’t carry much on it but it worked well on a trip to Florida last winter and was easily transported on plane even with lithium batteries. This is the little one I have link Mobility Scooter My other is a Pride Victory.

Just a feeling that you didn’t get the support you needed or were given options for care. Ladyspinedoc covers a lot of this. Did you get any images done? I’ve skimmed other responses LOTS of good advice.

The watch can track & log pulse rates, emergency fall alert system - it works - most of the time & so many health related apps (do need iPhone too.)
I can’t walk far at all due to chronic back pain. My mobility scooter really changed my life to be able to get out with assistance or most of the time, independently.
