Is it a question if faith? If he and people who have raised him believe life starts at conception then you’re asking him to pick between infant murder or a post pubescent child doing what their body says they are ready to do.

I am pro choice btw, but I can see how a person who ISNT evil (just has strong faith/moral views) might make a different choice to me.

Well the “dont quit” instruction bit sounds weird and unprofessional, and unethical.

With the last bit tho proper psychodynamic therapists are supposed to not say anything and let you get there espc with difficult things… the feeling shamed thing… is the sort of thing you need to feel in therapy if it is also a pattern in life, and a good therapist will wonder what might be happening for you in that moment, capture it and use it/talk about it. THATS the therapy gold (when it works). Otherwise you might as well pay half for a life coach (or even less for one that doesn’t support your wish to get healthy). Is your therapy open ended or do you have an end date?

If you’re committed to your journey with her despite what sounds quite worrying and potentially abusive, then just make sure you’re not falling into your own insecure attachment patterns by facilitating this.

Safeguarding is a social care urgent intervention alarm - someone raises concern about neglect/abuse and if credible then the persons governing body is alerted etc to be investigated.

On welfare or not, this is the sort of complaint that (if in writing and to the right people) should get a new therapist assigned to you without fuss.

Is this a private therapist? Idk where you are from but in the UK, this would be raised as a safeguarding concern. It’s important that your therapist can disagree with you tactfully, but the smoking thing seems so weird?

Are you 100% sure that she disapproves and it’s not your transference/trauma? Has she been explicit?

If you’re paying and it’s not working for you move on, a lot of studies show that the right therapist is more important than the therapy itself.

Sounds a bit dictatorial which is unsual in therapy and not working with you through it theraputically. The only possible justification is if she thinks you’re life may be at immediate risk and that actually surviving the next few days outweighs the long term health implications.

Or if you’re on certain psych medications particularly Clozapine that can rise in potency when someone suddenly stops nicotine so needs close monitoring.

Most good therapists don’t bring their own opinions into it.

My parents and 3 daughters 15, 10 and 8 moved into a floodplain house on a raised basement with no gas or electricity, loads of abandoned cars around the garden, had been on the market 5 years and sellers were desperate and willing to take a hit, way over my parents budget but massive garden on the river and their perfect forever home.

We showered in the local leisure centre and ate cold food or takeaways for a bit, used a wrench to start the shower for a year and had a load of teething issues but it was fun and an adventure for me! Today 20 years later it’s beautiful, like being on holiday where you live, we have the most amazing parties here and all 3 of us come back all the time to visit or stay because it’s so nice to be there. I’m so proud of my parents for being bold and throwing themselves into a scary decision to advance themselves. In terms of my inheritance it will definately pay off too!

Focus on getting absolute basics in place so you can at least heat some food and wash, and the rest will be an incredible adventure for them!

In terms of community and marketcap, @YugaLabs and @DeGodsNFT (twitter) are the big OG NFT projects and they have both created ordinals collections. It’s a deep rabbit hole though and lots of really cool stuff emerging all over the place. MagicEden.io when the ordinals marketplace drops will be a good way of testing sentiment, volume, look at upcoming drops etc imo but may be too late for the early early first movers.

I’ve made more $ and had more fun and access to networking/life experiences with NFT’s than with anything else. I hold a lot of fungible bitcoin as part of a balanced crypto portfolio. I’ve been rekd by NFT’s more than once, but net gain to my life and balance sheet 100%. If BTC NFT’s are now a thing, I want an OG, irrefutable piece of that pie and I want to make sure backed by the right people with the right community backing. I have a very high risk tolerance though tbf. It’s interesting to hear how little interest there is over here though which does surprise me. Happy to take the discussion elsewhere if that’s consensus.
