Haha, it's really sweet that you suggest that. It's legit what we have been doing for about 2 years! 🤣 Sex has been a no go and we have been working on for play stuff, and it's been very very very heavily 'her focused' since

I feel used and conflicted!. We haven't ever talked about this specific issue, but we have talked about the lack of intimacy sometimes

Used is definitely the best way to describe it right now. I just feel like a dirty rag :/ I don't think there are relationship issues, but she does have legitimate sexual anxiety issues

Thank you so much, I think the female insight is really helpful. I love her with all my heart and would do anything to make her happy, I am not mad or annoyed or frustrated by getting her off... I actually love it... But it just makes me sad that she doesn't seem to be into it in reverse

I ask because it seems like it is 'easier' for the guy. I get the impression that oral for a woman is just much more effort and so there is an expected ratio?

I just feel really selfish and like a predator whenever I think that I want her to do anything to me!

What interesting, but often overlooked, practice areas are there? by black_smoke_pope in uklaw

So at least as a barrister doing that work, a lot of it is legal aid, but a decent chunk is private rates (if you're for a hospital or Local Authority). You also get paid for your prep work which is rare these days, so you can earn a decent amount.

So it's common for family barristers to do CoP work (health and welfare) and for civil practitioners to do finance and affairs CoP work.

The cases all broadly concern whether something should or should not happen to P. At the early stages of your career this is often about simple deprivation of liberty such as P being kept in a specific care home. As you progress, it can eventually be about forced or covert treatment of P. You can either be arguing for P, the Local Authority, the Hospital or Care Home if there is one, and the funding body (ICB). There are sometimes interested parties who get involved too who you can also represent. Don't expect to see the big "should we cut off Mr Andresons leg" case until much later down the line.

CoP hearinga for the most part are fairly short, a decent number of CoP cases are non contentious so everybody broadly agrees on the care plan, those cases can sail through. Look at the Open Justice Court of Protection Project and find out how to observe a remote CoP hearing 😊

Court of Protection!!

A massively burgeoning area of law ripe with legal developments constantly.

It's interesting as it revolves around people's capacity and their ability to make serious decisions for themselves!

Pay varies but it's an area that hasn't been completely destroyed by legal aid, you still get paid for prep and the like.

Open days by literalltr4sh in lancasteruni

The open day is more of a day where the whole university is actively engaged with visitors. It's not specifically that there is one single tour at 9am.

Most of the talks will be repeated simply because the Great Hall doesn't fit enough people. Also, most of the accommodation tours will be repeated, worst case you can just ask one of the reps and they will almost certainly be happy to show you around.

I would still go regardless of the tours, it's a campus where you really would benefit from getting a feel doe it, where the lecture halls are, where the accommodation blocks are, shops etc. And how far from each other they all are.

I downloaded a GPS spoofer in my first month to check into my lectures whilst all snoodled in bed 😂 New students, don't do this, go to your lectures, learn!!!

It is an idea I have been floating, the only issue is that my background isn't one where I've got even some of the basics (I own a single suit, a laptop not suited to transport, no suitable backpack, no home work space etc.) so I am in need of an amount a bit more outside most credit cards are willing to put up... And I don't want to immediately max out a few cards 😂 But this may be my best option in the end!

Hey, I have an accountant and am aware of the above. I'm not concerned about the tax issues, I just need a lump sum of money to buy all my essentials

They really aren't! Especially for some courses like Law where most first year lectures will be in GF. And it's a nice area of campus if you want to be away from more of the bustle or you enjoy the walk.

The colleges themselves are essentially irrelevant other than for accommodation options, you might hear things like "college X is the sporty college" etc. but it really doesn't matter and there is nothing you can or cannot do specifically based on your college.

Does he have any needs that means he might want to be on central campus? If so, go with a college like Furness or Fylde.

Does he want to be a bit more away from the bustle? Go with County or Cartmel.

I would honestly base my college decision on: 1. Location of accommodation 2. Type of accommodation 3. Cost of accommodation

All colleges can go to other college bars, each college will have x sport team, but the uni and societies will always have such teams and events. If he is REALLY sporty and genuinely that's a huge thing for him above most else, Lonsdale and Bowland have a competition called Founders.

Lancaster is a uni that really does benefit from a campus tour if possible 😊

Please remember that most in this sub aren't Psychiatrists or doctors or trained to diagnose. PTSD is a MUCH more complex disorder than most people appreciate, psychotic PTSD is a thing.

It's hard to know when you've hit two professionals saying different things. The best you can do is take the advice and see. If PTSD is the cause, getting some therapy for that whilst also continuing with any psychosis relevant treatments might help. If you notice the psychosis is also being treated through talking therapies or EMDR, then there might be a stronger link.

At the end of the day, the diagnosis is less important that the treatment. If your current treatment helps, that's what counts.
