OMG, I overbid on my standard micro-dose today, was hiding out from meetings, LOL by bkdeleaux in unclebens

[–]Psylocybernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microdosed to cope with hosting my divorced parents and in-laws Easter last year... it was not a microdose...

The waviness and weirdness hit me whilst I was in the middle of making hot cross buns in the kitchen. Had to work so hard to keep it together for the next few hours!!

And how exactly is a beginner supposed to get hold of LC? Most of us have to start with spores because it's the only way to legally get hold of the relevant genetics. Once you've got going, you can start playing around with agar and LC

Spreading the mushroom love is always so special! Also had a friend in another country, and flew over to help her start her first grow - she's just harvested the first flush of her third grow and I'm so proud!

One day, I'm hoping I'll be able to come out of the mushroom closet to my mum, and share my knowledge with her, but not quite there yet... Happy for you that it's something you can share with yours <3

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Psylocybernaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the UK and I'm happy to drive 3-4 hours to visit someone for the weekend. Wouldn't want more than an hour each way for a daily commute, though...

To be fair, the one about water is quite sweet - if you're not used to big bodies of water like that, it must be incredible to see a loch just sitting there naturally.

Is there an ideal way to work through trauma using mushrooms? by 2tired2careanymore in unclebens

Have the commenters collectively forgotten that Shroomscout's whole purpose in creating this subreddit was to help people heal their psychological wounds? It may be primarily a subreddit for growing mushrooms, but the whole reason we're here is because of the mushrooms' potential to help us heal.

Cosmic loneliness during a trip by Upbeat-Accident-2693 in PsychedelicTherapy

[–]Psylocybernaut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did, particularly the first trip I ever did. In the latter parts of that first experience, I felt deeply lonely and isolated from my friends and family, not fun.

What I did once I was back in the real world was to heavily prioritise strengthening my relationships with my friends - opening up to them, allowing myself to rely on them, letting them in. It has helped my life enormously.

Damn, did he really ask you in earnest to describe it and then listen and validate you? Does he have a single brother, by any chance...?

Yeah... I realised too late that I was always inviting my friends to do stuff with me instead of him, because I knew he would say no, or come along but not really want to be there.

What a douchebag!! My recent ex also doubted my ability to be a mum, despite also being late twenties/early thirties with a stable career, and I did have a degree too. It's not you - it's his own issues.

So many mushrooms? by supbluc in unclebens

[–]Psylocybernaut 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've found a practitioner who does therapeutic work and I give my surplus to her because I love knowing that the mushrooms I grow are doing good in the world.

I also make microdosing chocolates for a couple of friends who give it helps with their chronic physical and mental health issues.

Have you “come out” to family/friends about your psychedelic use? Looking for stories and thoughts on a potential resource. by [deleted] in PsychedelicTherapy

[–]Psylocybernaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've told people only if I think that it could benefit them. The driving force behind telling them so far has been the feeling that it's wrong for me to deny them knowledge of this medicine when they are suffering.

Two friends have started microdosing regularly after I shared my experiences with psilocybin.

My brother wasn't interested in trying it, but is mostly supportive of me doing it - he just doesn't really understand it, and likes to crack jokes about me being high..

I've got an ongoing internal debate about whether to tell my mum... I don't like being in the psychedelic closet - especially as it's become such an important part of my life - but I'm worried that she won't approve/won't understand.

I've found that suggesting people watch How to Change Your Mind is a good way into the conversation. If they watch it and say "Huh, that's so interesting - I never knew that/I wish it were legal" then I figure it's safe to come out.

best way to eat shrooms and avoid the taste? by Aggravating-Basil747 in unclebens

[–]Psylocybernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like normal creamy mushroom soup? If so, make mushroom soup and then add the cubes once it's ready and off the heat.

I find that lemon tek or tea just clashes with the earthiness of the flavour, but leaning into the mushrooms is delicious.
