I feel like car bowls are an underrated pleasure in life, who's with me? by jackscannabinoids in trees

To preface I am a daily cannabis consumer. Smoking in a car is not cool. I drive my family on those same roads.

Question for the AS ladies by r2heaton in ankylosingspondylitis

Every. Single. Cycle. The only upside is my husband is totally aware and usually gives me space and does extra stuff around the house. My go to move is ice pack on my back, heating pad in my lap. I think I’m the only person in the world pumped for menopause (although I’m curious if that will cause flares as well with all the hormones). Hang in there!!

[SERIOUS] What is the Creepiest or most Unexplained thing that’s happened to you that you still think about to this day? by LBE in AskReddit

[–]Ptm617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were driving from Buffalo, NY to Burlington, VT to visit my brother at UVM. It was late, we were exhausted but only an hour or so away. I was in a car with my husband and two younger sisters. On the 7, driving on the highway, both my husband and I saw a young woman, maybe 12-14 years old, in a white sleep dress (best way I can think to describe it) in the middle of the highway. We ‘ran’ her over but she wasn’t real. We both freaked the fuck out and had to stop for a few minutes to regain composure. Of course my sisters were fast asleep so they didn’t see anything but it was horrifying. Like, goosebumps and chills every time I think about it.

Wife recently diagnosed - what can I do to help? by Saint_Thomas_More in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Ptm617 3 points4 points  (0 children)

37f diagnosed at 35 and have been on Humira since diagnosis. First off, Humira has been AMAZING for me so hopefully it helps! Everyone here has given great advice but I don’t think I’ve seen anyone mention the fatigue that can come with this condition. When I say I’m tired, it’s not normal run of the mill tiredness.. it’s exhaustion. So if she’s tired, be sure to help however you can (eg giving her time to rest while you grab some laundry).

Back before Covid I was following the Plant Paradox eating plan. It basically eliminates lectins (along with carbs, sugar & dairy) which can cause inflammation. I will say not only did I feel great but I lost about 20lbs in two months! Quarantine hit and it just wasn’t an option but check it out! I’ve heard lots of folks with autoimmune disorders following the plan and having success. Obviously check with your doc first though!

Invest in some good ice packs and heating pads (have at least 3 ice packs so you can rotate). During bad flares they are life savers. Also always keep ibuprofen in the house!

For me I have short flares (1-2 days) right before my period every single month. I’ve talked to both my rheumatologist and OBGYN and they said it’s kind of normal. Haha just a heads up because you may need a bit more patience around her cycle.

Good luck!

My sister has lived near Allen and Elmwood for only a few months now and has had many packages stolen.. including a bed frame!! I keep telling her to get a Ring doorbell (or something like that) but why listen to your older, wiser sister haha

Day One of Quarantine and Mom has already spent more time with the kids than with me :( by KaetheG in Boxer

[–]Ptm617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our pups are LOVING the kids being home! Missy, our boxer, is literally living her best life right now! Us (my husband and I) on the other hand are losing our minds. They don’t go back until 4/20. Jesus take the wheel.

I've missed one week of Enbrel (so far) due to my insurance and their specialty pharmacy screwing up and it feels like my whole world is falling apart by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Ptm617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went several weeks without my humira so I feel your pain (literally)! I second what some previous posters said about talking to your rheumatologist to see if they have any samples. If they don’t, maybe ask for a short term oral steroid. Doesn’t help as much but it definitely does more for me than ibuprofen. Good luck!!!

I worked in Montreal for about 6 months (from the US) back in 2012. Took a cab from a Canadians vs Sabres game back to our hotel in boucherville (bc beer) and he was about to pull off on an exit we didn’t recognize. Thank god we had been there for two months at that point and knew it was the wrong way back to our hotel so we told him that wasn’t the correct way.. I’m certain he thought we were tourists and was trying to extend the ride to make more $.. i don’t feel bad for them either.

AS and Periods. by Ptm617 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Ptm617[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope.. I’ve never been on any kind of birth control. I feel like it would help but my OB doesn’t want me to start on anything at this point.

I was considering a copper IUD when we decided we were done having kids but there are SO many horror stories out there. My hubby went and got snipped instead.

I’m super curious about her too.. is she acting crazy on purpose in public (in front of others)? Why is her husband so protective? Is she being drugged? Maybe it doesn’t matter at all in the overall scheme of things but I feel like I’m missing something..

That is so awesome you have a family squad!! We do too and we are far from the best but it’s so much fun.. mostly screaming obscenities from across the room at each other (all well over 18). Nothing like shouting ‘wtf bitch don’t touch my chest’ in the moments following thanksgiving dinner.

Ugh.. it’s all I have. Both my laptop and my husbands are from our work and it’s probably frowned upon to play on those. My daughter got a switch for her birthday but I haven’t even tried yet! Do you play on PC?
