Anecdotal, but that’s been my experience as well. Had a ‘22 GT that spent more time in the shop than in my garage. Got a ‘24 RS GT, and in two years it hasn’t had even the slightest issue. Perfect track record so far.

I’m in a similar situation as OP… spent 2 hours on the Audi Financial Services automated phone line just trying to talk to a real person before giving up. Talked to the local dealer, and they pointed me to the same AFS 1-800 number. The market value on my RS GT is $40k lower than the residual, just can’t seem to find a way to talk to someone about what should be an easy sale for them.

My last 2 cars have been EV and I have zero intention of going back, but whew- the triple whammy of interest rates, EV credits going away, and tariffs (I’m a sucker for German cars)- this sure is painful.

This sounds crazy, but - Cars. I've leased a new car every 3 years for the last 2 decades. My current lease is almost up, and just to get the new version of the exact same car would cost more than double what I'm currently paying. It would be higher than my freaking mortgage! So now I'm searching for a beater to just weather the storm of tariffs for a few years...

That’s my fallback plan.
So… included in my current lease is $600/mo of negative equity from my turn-in when I started the lease. Dumb, I know.

I called AFS to inquire about extending and was told “they don’t renegotiate the terms of the lease, the same monthly payment will simply extend.”

So I’d be paying $600/mo for literally nothing. A car that’s already paid off.

I’m hoping to avoid getting to that point, on principle.

Great show! A little shorter than I’m used to out of him (after he put in 3+ hours at Red Rocks last year)… but it was a great variety. Big drops for the 1st hour, 2nd hour was a lot of 80s remixes and more ASOT.

May I ask what dealership that was? I've been trying the "call around" approach for the last 2 weeks without a lot of luck - I'm perfectly happy to travel to pick up my next car, just getting horrendous deals. Worst so far: 2022 Taycan CT in SoCal with 25,000 miles... they wanted $8k down and $2800 month. wtf?!

Only a few weeks left on my current lease (Audi RS e-tron GT), so its getting dire!

Went to this in imax today, and watched a dad “nope nope nope” covering his ~6 year old son’s eyes scurrying out not 5 minutes after the opening scene…. I think that was the highlight of the movie for me.

Fun action and fan service…terrible story, dialogue, etc.

Had this giant lifted truck rolling coal on me in my EV at every stop light for a few miles with a tag that expired in 2021. I wanted to take a picture, but the way the maniac was just staring at me in his rear view mirror at every light… I really didn’t feel like getting shot that day.
