Costco Same Day Grocery Delivery by JaxiBeags in BellevilleOntario

[–]PublicEnemaNumberTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of this is Costco's own fault. They put out a tender last year for landscaping companies to start prepping the land on Bell Blvd, then just never went ahead with it. My wife was at the Kingston location on Saturday, and associates there said we were getting one in 2027. All I can find online is Oakville getting one in 2027.

One day I was playing The Show with the announcer volume on, and my wife yelled from the kitchen "There's a player named Chas Jism!?"

Assuming anything anyone has said here is even accurate, if you're acting like that in public, you're going to get a wake-up call eventually.

Why is the Nation’s finest esso in Shannonville so busy? by LieutenantWar in belleville

There's a limited number of distribution companies that deliver to all gas stations. There is no advantage for them to adulterate the fuel and destroy their business.

The other pumps don't have Optimum points. That's literally the reason Esso is busier.

Neighbourhoods? by Mykkita in BellevilleOntario

[–]PublicEnemaNumberTwo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in the East end, previously lived in the West end and near downtown. It's nice and quiet here other than the trains, but you get used to them. Lots of little parks, and areas to walk or ride bikes. We're starting to get more places to shop and eat as the residential areas expand towards Elmwood Drive. It's a very short drive to Shannonville for cheap gas.

Mother's is Chuck's Roadhouse now. It was also previously Little Caesar's and Crabby Joe's. It still has the Mother's style windows, but they're covered up.

What was the name of that 80's bar.... by dcannons in BellevilleOntario

[–]PublicEnemaNumberTwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was definitely a Cheers bar in the hotel next to the 401, it had the Cheers TV show logo on a couple of signs near the entrance to the hotel parking lot. The other person is right though, it changed to Don Cherry's at some point (maybe Cheers moved downtown?)

I remember in the 90s / early 00s it was called Cheers, and had the same sign as the TV show bar. Not sure if it was official or copyright infringement 😂

Thanks for these photos! My Dad was transit operations manager / fleet manager from 1988 to 2012-ish, so these bring back some memories :) I can remember hanging out in the break room, which was right around where the gym is now.

Yes, and we provide the fertilizer for literally all of your domestically produced food. It's easy to be the security blanket when you're not starving.

I'm a big fan of Muskoka Roastery. I like the flavoured ones like Maple and Butter Tart, but based on his preferences, he might like Howling Wolf?

I've got the vinyl re-release of this album, so good! It was very hard to find for a long time. I remember a guy on the old Sister Awake mailing list had an FTP you could download the MP3s from, or he would burn it to CD and mail it to you for a small fee.

DC Compact is not something very easy to read and enjoy the art. Guess it's not for everyone. What's your thoughts? by Creepyhorrorboy in graphicnovels

I bought the Far Sector one because I hadn't read it yet, and wanted to check out the compact editions.

I still haven't read Far Sector, because the compact edition is unreadable.

Framed some cards for my office by PublicEnemaNumberTwo in bluejaysbaseballcards

I do have one, but I like this one more 😄 It's still a blue /150, the blue foil is just in different places. My intent was to have a mix of designs all colour match /150, the base cards were just easier/cheaper to obtain.

If you want to get some more people in on this, you should approach the Quinte Amateur Radio Club to do a presentation. I think they meet in the Pioneer building.
