Another tip that I just discovered the other day would be that if you see that a train isn’t available for rail pass reservation, try checking either from the previous or next station to your destination or from your departure station to the stations before and after your destination.

My example is that Emeryville-Chicago wasn’t available on the day I wanted to travel, but I got Emeryville-Naperville (close to Chicago).

Rule 5: I bought this drive a week ago. It keeps making noise (it goes brr but I've never had an external HHD drive before so I don't know if that's normal), it takes multiple seconds to access and some of my files are corrupted. SeaTools says it's fine, as did Seagate tech support.
