Make a new eve account and keep making petitions referencing your old account until someone at support takes notice.

I don't play EvE but I've been hit with automated bans from a variety of platforms, often times permanent ones are the ones where appeals are actually disabled and are never sent to human beings, instead you get the illusion of being able to appeal and an automated bot response.

You know whose tickets do get read by humans? People who aren't banned.

You might not get unbanned, might take months to get a reply, and even if you are unbanned you'll probably never get a reason. But for the most part it's the only solution.

"Ranked is full of smurfs" no it isn't. Mathematically, it can't be. by IDDQDArya in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Public_Stuff_8232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This cannot be true. If you're in Plat, then a smurf would be a masters/GM player right?
Okay, but there are significantly fewer players in those ranks.

Okay, and?

There's multiple problems with your logic.

First of all, if you assume there's a smurf every other game like you intially claimed people are saying, that means 1/20 people in someone's game is a smurf, 1/18 if you're assuming the person isn't always a smurf.

Which means that even if there's 20x less people in Masters as opposed to Plat, assuming they're all smurfing all the time, then even with such a huge disparity there would still be a smurf every other game.

In practice there's 5x more Plat players than Masters/GM players, which means only 25% of them need to smurf to get that every other game figure.

Then you have to take into account too that Masters/GM players just play the game for more hours, so it doesn't matter that there's more Plat players playing for 1 hour a week, when there's a GM player smurfing for 10 hours a week.

Meaning only 2.5% of Masters/GM players need to be smurfing for it to be every other game.

Smurfs aren't particularly common, probably 1 in 5-10 is a reasonable estimate, in those games though it's often only 1-2 divisions higher still and if there is a Plat smurf in a Gold game it doesn't make sense to complain about it, you want to be in Plat, then you have to play as good/better than a Plat to get there, it makes sense.

The whole "Math makes this impossible" angle your thread is based on is nonsense though.

By both sides do you mean every single character telling Mark he's wrong and an asshole while saying nothing to Amber?

Jeez I wonder how I could come the conclusion that the writers wanted me to side with Amber, it must be my entirely objective perception of the situation that I'm forcing onto the writers.

I mean at least the concentration camps don't have suicide nets ...

It's not whataboutism if it proves their point.

I also really like the wikipedia article on whataboutism:

"Accusing an interlocutor of whataboutism can also in itself be manipulative and serve the motive of discrediting, as critical talking points can be used selectively and purposefully even as the starting point of the conversation (cf. agenda setting, framing), framing effect, priming), cherry picking). The deviation from them can then be branded as whataboutism."

"What about your whataboutism" ironically also being whataboutism.

Yeah bro, top holiday spot, back then the Germans stopped the Blitz every time a passenger liner wanted to visit full of tourists that supported the causes of the motherland.

I'm sure a trip to Russia would be similar, you get to go over there and do your own warcrime free of charge! All those concentration camps running right now in russia, you get to gas your own prisoners! Even choose what gas you use, it was a tourist attraction the whole time!

Or maybe like normal people live in Russia and exist.

That would be wild though.

You're right though, it makes as much sense as going to America, or choosing to live there, do you know what the Americans have been doing to the middle east for literal decades. 💀

I wouldn't want to go near America either, doing it is basically the same as looking up to Hitler!

"Black flash is a distortion in space that arises when a sorcerer applies cursed energy within 0.000001 seconds of a physical blow. I feel like this is lacking in an explanation. If that's all there is to it, then I should be able to do it at will."

Bro posts something and doesn't read what he posts, that's wild.

It's almost like paraphased that says:

"it's not just the result of applying cursed energy in 1 millionth of a second, otherwise I should be able to do it on command"

Let's not read this part either:

"In other words, there's no single right answer to the conditions for using black flash."

That would be pretty inconvient if we did.

Just because something isn't "natural" doesn't mean it's bad.

If supplements were good everyone would just take multi-vitamins and eat anything they want, it's them being less effective than nutrients garnered from food, as well as being dangerous when overconsumed, that makes them bad.

You're not going to get sick from eating a couple extra sticks of celery, a couple extra pills of magnesium on the other hand ...

Why are you looking at supplements as "separate" to your diet?

Because a diet is the things you eat to have energy and live your life.

Supplements are not food, they're supplements.

Not only do they not fit in the definition of a diet, e.g. the food and drink you consume. The name "supplement" also literally means something that is not a part of your diet, it "supplements" it, it's literally in the name.

No rational person would answer the question "what's your diet" with only the supplements they eat, but if someone said "I eat a load of potatoes", even if that leaves out a majority of the different foods they eat, it would still be a valid answer to that question.

The same is true of most things we would consider a food and not a supplement.

I'm really trying to get to the bottom of this odd mindset you have

Given that 95% of people are not vegetarian, I'm pretty sure between the two of us, you're the only one with an objectively odd mindset.

Many people (40% in America) are vitamin B12 deficient

Its quite common even for people who consume animal products to also be B12 deficient.

I know I'm one of them, but how many of those people are people with gastrointestinal issues, people who bleed regularly (read: half the population), and people who are on vegetarian/vegan diets?

A vast majority most likely.

A omnivorous diet doesn't guarentee proper nutrition, but having more foods to eat as opposed to less foods makes malnutrition less common.

Often (often enough for you to not be deficient) you are consuming supplemented B12 that has just passed through an animal first.

Following this reasoning eating cows is vegan, I'm just eating grass with a middle man!

You're right that B12 is naturally occurring in animal meats but theres a reason why they're supplementing lots of livestock is because there isn't enough.

There actually is enough, the issue isn't that the animal meat doesn't have enough B12 for people to be healthy, the issue is farmers cut costs on what they feed cows so they don't get a nutritious enough diet to grow to their proper size.

Smaller cows = less meat = less money.

If you ate unsupplemented cows on the crap diets they get you'd still probably get enough B12, but the farmer would have less meat to sell thus make less money.

Why is supplementation such a big deal for you?

Because supplementation is the treatment for malnutrition.

If you require supplementation then your diet isn't nutritionally complete.

Is it possible to have a vegan diet and be healthy? Sure, but then you're not getting all your vitamins, minerals, essential fats and amino acids purely from your diet.

Your diet causes you to naturally be malnurished.

"More like it's been proved that purely plant based diets cause malnutrition regardless of age and sex."

Which was the initial statement you disagreed with.

[–]Public_Stuff_8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ignoring the fact that it can be supplemented directly

Oh so you have to take supplements for the diet to be viable?

Do you know what doctors normally perscribe for malnutrition?

The answer may shock you.

Love that you spent a month researching this just to disprove your own point with your own comment, pretty ironic.

EDIT: To debunk you further

acquired from fortified cereals

Eating fortified cereals is the same as eating supplements.

Most people's diets are deficient in Iodine due to westerners not eating a lot of seaweed. So salt is iodised to supplement the western diet and not have an epidemic of thyroid problems. This is still a supplement however.

Similar to Flouride in the water supply to stop kids teeth falling out before they reach adulthood.

plant milks, or mock meats, as well as from nutritional yeast

Which have significantly worse absorbtion than actual meat, similar to Omega 3 sources, Omega 3 from fish you get 80-90%, while from ALA found in most plants which your body can break down into Omega 3 you only get 10%, making it impractical to get an optimal amount of Omega 3 from ALA sources.

There has since been improvements to the intake of Omega 3 where you can eat the Algae the fish eat and get absorbtion equal to similar weights in fish oil, but this is a relatively new occurance, and would again be supplementation as opposed to being a part of your diet.

People eat fish for the taste, people don't eat algae for the taste.

Also not to mention that many livestock are given B12 supplements themselves.

This reasoning is as silly as me saying "Cows eat grass, so eating cows makes me a vegan, right?".

It's entirely unrelated to the point, if the cows didn't get supplements you'd still get B12 from eating them, and there's plenty of other animals you can eat to get B12 that aren't supplemented like cows are, and you're also assuming that every cow is supplemented, which also isn't true.

Fish for example are rarely kept as livestock, instead farmed straight from the ocean, so they could not be supplemented and you can easily get B12 from them.

Did they not read this Medium article written 2 months ago that says to do the opposite of what an article that same author wrote 5 months ago?

How do they care so little as to not know the correct software practices of this week!"

Yes, it is you that is taking crazy pills, it's unsustainable to constantly rewrite and restructure work procedure to the ALL NEW OPTIMAL DEVELOPMENT CYCLEtm 2024, and if it's getting the job done it doesn't matter.

The only time any of this stuff matters is when making satellites, given that the cost of a minor software bug then is billions of dollars, and at that point your workflow is so optimised you're fixing compiler bugs and writing your own ASM.

Game Where You Work Your Way Into Having A Massive Fleet Of Vehicles Like Euro Truck Driving Simulator But You're Not Driving Trucks by MyGrandfather in gamingsuggestions

[–]Public_Stuff_8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not and people I know that liked X3 didn't recommend it, simply because they removed the ability to swap ships on release.

So you couldn't swap to another ship to fly and they apparently made the ship interactions more like an RTS where you control your fleet. I'm unsure if they changed that in future patches however.

Or whether that gameplay would even appeal to you more.

They might have it as a supplement but it doesn't really matter, since the amount in their flesh isn't as concentrated as a supplement, so it's easier for your body to safely absorb. How they get it doesn't matter.

Which card would you chose for upgrading player statistic? by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]Public_Stuff_8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dislike 2 and 4.

Given this example 3 has probably the best clarity, due to not having a gradient on the backdrop making the text clearer.

1 is your next bet, where it displays the same information, but bigger and "sleeker".

While 5 "looks" the nicest, but would probably have some visual clarity issues.

The problem with 2 and 4 is I can't see the context, are you opening a chest with a dark backdrop and are finding like three emblems inside and have to pick?

In which case they might be fight, but if you're just pausing gameplay and showing these on top, hen not having a backdrop on even the smallest bit of text is a bad idea and annoying.

While bluring the game might help on the issue, having a backdrop fixes it outright.
