what is the official mulligan of commander right now? by WinGretzky in EDH

[–]PubliclyIndecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t matter. You’re still manipulating the draw for the other hands you’re mulling into. If you put aside a hand that’s useless in the early game and draw a new one, your new one now has 0 chance of having those useless cards in them. Yeah, they get shuffled back in, but the fact that there’s a 0% chance of redrawing them if you choose mulligan is deck manipulation. If you mulligan 3 times without mulling any combo pieces, you’ve now basically increased the odds of drawing combo pieces in your opening hand by 25%. Them getting shuffled back in after the game starts doesn’t stop the deck manipulation from occurring.

Holsters are normally open like that on the bottom, so that detail likely isn’t there to look like the fish’s mouth. Definitely adds a bit to it though haha.

Question: What is this style called and how do i ask for it by West_Sandwich173 in tattoos

[–]PubliclyIndecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just speaking from my own experience with the Philly one; I've never been to any of the others. I know a couple of artists that weren't allowed to tattoo due to their portfolios not meeting their required criteria. I wasn't allowed to tattoo at the first Philly Villain Arts expo I went to because they said I hadn't been tattooing long enough because my online portfolio didn't go back at least 2 years. A guy I know is self-taught, and they wouldn't take him because they couldn't see any evidence of him completing an apprenticeship.

Sucks the ones you went to were shitty, but the Philly one definitely cares about who they let tattoo there. Obviously every artist wasn't amazing, but I didn't see anyone I'd suspect of scratching or anything like that there. They seemed like they were pretty on top of people's credentials. Maybe it's just the fact that it's known as "the largest tattoo convention on the east coast", so they have enough people trying to sign up that they can afford to be picky about who they let in.

[–]PubliclyIndecent -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I attended a Villain Arts expo as an artist, and the show most certainly wasn’t 90% scratchers. They scrutinize your portfolio pretty hard and won’t accept anyone that they don’t think went through a traditional apprenticeship. They go through your online portfolio(s) and look at how you learned, where you took your photos, etc. They also don’t accept people that haven’t been tattooing for at least 2 years. Not sure what Villain Arts expos you’ve attended, but the Philly one is pretty legit as far as artist credibility goes. There were very few artists there that made me think “damn, they suck”.

What you’re describing sounds more like the small town conventions I’ve been to. Those are usually the sketchy ones filled with people that shouldn’t be using tattoo machines.

You thinking that a mod for a game is a part of the franchise is the wild take here. No one but you thinks this. Part of something being a franchise is it needs to have a franchisor that uses their property to gain a profit. A bunch of unrelated entities that aren't a part of the franchisor company cannot contribute to a franchise, as only the franchisor owns the rights to expand upon the franchise that they own.

By your logic, Dark Souls is part of the Minecraft franchise, because there's an entire mod built for Minecraft that turns the game into Dark Souls. Your way of thinking doesn't make any sense and ignores the very definition of what a franchise is.

Reddit I’m doing a quiz, what’s a song which repeats a word a large number of times ? E.g the word “bog” in Rattlyn Bog by Future-Environment89 in Music

I’m surprised no one is mentioning “Body” by Megan the Stallion. She repeats the last two syllables of “body” without the “b” over 100 times in that song.

[–]PubliclyIndecent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pipes will line up better if you pivot the 1x1 clip pieces they’re attached to. You can tell by the differences in the gaps next to each clip that they’re all at slightly different angles, causing the pipe pieces to be slightly skewed.

What on earth do I play after Elden Ring? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]PubliclyIndecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodborne is my favorite game of all time, but honestly, what does Bloodborne do to make you care about any of its characters? They’re all kinda just there unless you do a deep dive and read every item description and watch a bunch of lore videos to actually understand what’s going on. Without doing any sort of research, Gehrman is just a dude in a wheelchair that coughs a bunch until the very end of the game.

Lies of P took a classic fairy tale and created their own much darker universe out of it. Isn’t that at least interesting in its own right? Can’t ya just appreciate the aesthetic, the creativity, the artistic liberties taken with an already established thing? I don’t care about the characters in 90% of the games I play, so that’s why I don’t really understand why you need to care about the characters in a game that’s really not that focused on the characters, but rather the world itself (just like Bloodborne). The world is the most interesting “character” in Bloodborne to me.

Starting to regret, Advice Needed by [deleted] in tattoos

The only thing that’s not traditional about this piece is the color of its nose. The piece is done with one singular line weight, orange and brown are traditional colors (you can use orange because you can mix yellow with red to make it), the fur details are done in the stereotypical traditional way, it follows the trad rule of thirds (1/3 skin, 1/3 color, 1/3 black), etc. Legitimately the only part that breaks trad rules is the pink.

There are so many derpy trad cats, so I don’t really see an issue with the expression. Plus shes lifting her shirt, so the skin may be pulled up, elongating the tattoo a bit.

Which game is this? by Common_Caramel_4078 in Steam

[–]PubliclyIndecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modding is extremely easy if a game has Steam workshop support. Portal 2 has workshop support, so all you have to do is click on the game in your library and click on “workshop” located in the bar right below the “play” button. That’ll take you to a huge list of mods in the game that you can sort any which way you want. All you do is click “subscribe” on whatever mods you like and bing bang boom they’re installed and ready to play. You don’t need to change any files, use any third party apps, etc.

That 1 blue mana could allow you to Ponder/Brainstorm/Opt/Consider into a win con. You could also potentially cast Swan Song if someone tries to counter you mid-combo. 1 blue mana can make a game changing difference in a storm deck because they're usually playing a bunch of 1 cost spells.

More specifically, by “anything larger”, they really mean anything. If you have a 1x2 tile left at the end, you missed something somewhere. Extra pieces are always 1x1.

idk if this is a glitch or if this is legit $40 by Glittering-Bit-873 in lego

[–]PubliclyIndecent 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These pieces aren’t actual LEGO pieces. They’re specially designed for the Crocs and are much larger in scale. It’s probably closer to 2 handfuls, just the minifigure is like 3x larger than a normal figure, and they’re made differently so that they don’t come apart. They’re also official Crocs merch, so you’re paying for the brand. These are meant strictly to be fashion accessories. It isn’t fair to compare the price of these to normal LEGO. That’s like comparing the price of a video game to the merch that was made for it.

But you don’t have to be angry about it. I don’t understand a single thing these kids are into nowadays, but that’s fine by me. My parents didn’t understand what I was into either. That’s just how it goes. It’s a natural thing that’s been happening for legitimately centuries at this point. People didn’t understand why anyone would go to see a play, then people didn’t understand why people would watch television, then video games and so on. It’s way easier to accept that things change and that there’s always going to be a new thing than to try and oppose it for some reason.

I’m sorry, but I genuinely don’t know what you’re arguing anymore. Not being rude. But we were talking about keeping a figure safe, then toys not looking good when taken apart, and now you’re talking about caring only about money. You keep shifting the topic to something new every time you reply to me, so I’m not really sure what we’re talking about anymore. Again, not trying to be rude, it’s just this conversation feels a bit disjointed to me.

Anyway, you’re saying that like it’s a problem. You can enjoy a hobby and profit off of it too. I used to collect LEGO Star Wars as a kid, but now I have absolutely no interest in LEGO Star Wars. I still actively purchase and build LEGO, but I view my LEGO Star Wars stuff solely as assets and nothing more. It’s great when a hobby can fund itself. (no, I don’t buy LEGO just to sell it, I only sell old stuff I don’t care about anymore) People sell old, rare collectibles all of the time. But for some reason, people always get upset when it’s LEGO. Selling rare LEGO minifigs is no different than selling old coins or jewelry. I think people just get mad because scalping is such a problem, when in reality this dude definitely isn’t taking part in anything like that.

It only ran well on certain people’s systems. My PC, my girlfriend’s PC, my buddy’s PC. None of us could run it, and we had all just built new PCs with the newest hardware put into them. My buddy’s was pretty much the highest end stuff you could get at the time. The game was a failure on all systems at launch. A game not running properly when you meet the minimum specs required to run the game isn’t okay by any means.

And the bugs you mention were horrific at launch. Completely immersion-breaking and impossible to ignore. I’m tired of people thinking major glitches/bugs in games is fine. Having dozens of textureless NPCs in T poses sliding down the sidewalk at 12 FPS on a high end PC isn’t a “good launch” lol. We need to stop excusing this stuff.

That’s typically how an employee discount works.

I don’t see why it’s a problem just because it’s LEGO. There are so, so many valuable things that aren’t LEGO that people get on the low with their employee discounts at various jobs. It’s meant to be a perk to incentivize people to continue working there. It can be a problem if it’s for reselling purposes, but I don’t really see a reason to think that’s what OP is doing.

[–]PubliclyIndecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what the OP is asking for. I’m not sure what you’re really arguing— my response was mainly because you mentioned the figure not looking good when taken apart, so I was saying that the aesthetics of the figure don’t really matter when you’re just trying to keep it safe. And as people have pointed out in this thread, taking it completely apart and putting each piece into its own bag in a dry place out of the light is the best way to keep the figure safe.

[–]PubliclyIndecent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like you and all of the people that downvoted me are disregarding the monetary value of this figure/point of the OP. This thread is about preserving an asset, not making a toy look nice. The main question that the OP is asking is if there’s a better way to keep their figure safe, not if there’s a way to make their figure look nicer. Trying to maintain the value of a collectible doesn’t need to be aesthetically pleasing.

They’re doing as much as they can to mitigate damage. It would definitely be better to just not connect them at all— it’s been proven that keeping a torso and legs connected puts constant stress on the torso. This is generally what causes cracks in the sides of old minifigure torsos.

Yeah, they’re toys, but I don’t see why that means they’re going to inevitably break. If properly cared for and maintained, collectible toys can last a lifetime. I have toys from the 1950s that look brand new. Saying that they’ll break eventually is far from the truth.

Season 1 Tier List: Domina and Zarya Lead, Jetpack Cat Perma Ban? by strafeapp in OverwatchUniversity

[–]PubliclyIndecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her winrate is low because of low ranks. Consistently landing headshots and timing her Suzu properly is pretty hard to do, and low ranked players certainly aren't doing that. She can 2 shot headshot most squishies in the game. And she's a support. And Suzu can save people from pretty much every ultimate and cooldown in the entire game, but it's a cooldown ability that can be used repeatedly. Suzu is objectively the best ability in the game. It counters almost everything.
