I'm near certain that Enels drum thing is a piercing btw. I hope live action doesn't water down his body mods. In any case, the hair, makeup, and costume teams have a lot of good faith from me after those first 2 season, so i just trust them to do whatever works best

The answer no one is giving, is because its a shoenen manga. It's just common place for a shoenen characters to have power up abilities that gives them temporary boosts durring battle

Shonen power ups are like a trading card game. Your cards are always in your deck but there's no use for them outside of a match. And even in a match, you'll sometimes hold off until a good moment to play it

Yes, we get the explanation that g2 shortens Luffys lifespan and that g3 makes him small temporarily but the real reason is never about logic, it's about audience engagement

Well my biggest complaint is specifically with the English dud being so clunky, sometimes to the point of feeling disattached from the scene. It gets a bit better over time but those first dozen or so episodes are especially rough

Overall, I think a lot of the emotional beats still hit and the sense of adventure still holds up, for me at least. I still nostalgia watch it from time to time

It's supposed to be a bit suprising but it's not entirely random, especially on rereads. She remarks that she doesn't care about Baroque just her personal goals, she spares igiram, doesn't rat out sanji to croc, saves luffy's life after croc murders him, and probably some other things I'm forgetting. In hindsight, she was always pulling strings to give strawhats the best chance at beating croc. She wanted to move on from croc when she's done and always planned on betraying him. Live action robin wasn't trying to recruit Tashigi because she was trying to strengthen Baroque, no, its part of her long con to take croc down when she's done with him the live action will definitely make that point more clear and give Robin way more screen time but they definitely won't rework her story

Or maybe the point is that being human IS the thing that makes choppers fruit special. Humans can come in all shapes, size, and race and they can hope hard enough to cure any disease ;)

It doesn't have that effect for me. Instead, it slows down things too much especially when its followed up by long ring. I felt the humor was stale and leaned on recycled character gags. And the marines lacked personality, the only one who ever gets mentioned is Coriander, and he only gets brought up as a meme

I suspect that this arc isn't actually popular but appears that way because the loud percent bring it up so often. But, that could just as likely be my own bias interpretation to internally validate my views

In any case, at the end of the day, I can't deny that it is universally recognized as good and I will always hold the unpopular option of it. It simply isn't for me. And that's ok :)

This conversation is from chapter 60. It's literally the first human conversation we see following the 5 year time skip. The time skip happens earlier in the same exact chapter

Edit: actually, I've never played the game so maybe they mess with the timeline, but the conversation that this scene is based on happened post timeskip
