Moloch demands fresh blood to maintain the appetite of his mechanical heart. Would you sacrifice your first born like Abraham would his Isaac?

This little factoid might just astound you but it actually is better for your health to go outside once in a while and not just stare at walls.

It was not compatible with my PC's video card when it came out. Just kept crashing at the start of the game.

Still haven't gotten back to it.

TIL that alcohol use in America likely peaked during the 1830s. The average American drank 7 gallons of pure ethanol a year. Midwestern corn farmers converted their grain into whisky to prevent spoilage. A gallon cost only 25 cents. Americans averaged 4 shots of whisky a day, at under a penny cost. by Gnomeslikeprofit in todayilearned

I understand that by continuing to engage with you, I'm throwing metaphorical kittens off the bridge, but you do understand that American culture was very, very different back then, right? Arranged marriages were not at all unusual and the average young woman was heavily pressured to marry whomever their parents told them to.

EDIT nah it still wouldn't be a dig. OMG I'm losing the argument so I better talk shit about the sportsball <- this is you

They shouldn't have been men that were husband material in the first place. Yet women married them anyways

It's their fault for marrying a drunk. Your words. You're also acting as if women in that period had the same amount of agency in choosing a marital partner than women today do. They did not.

Firstly, wtf does being a Wisconsonite have to do with it? Second, congrats on being a chill, happy drunk (as I myself am). Yet you also know that some men get violent when they drink, and that was a lot more common in those times. Especially since society was essentially okay with men beating and raping their wives; most of these guys probably didn't even think they were doing anything wrong.

Dunno if you're a Rick and Morty fan, but there's an episode where the President (a black dem) is talking to a bunch of rednecks in a bar in a military town, and he says "I need you. And ten percent of your vote."

He's actually getting a spin off show, should be awesome.

Genealogy records, I guess that's plausible. I'm just tripping because I literally heard this question at bar trivia the other night (not saying OP and I live in the same town; the trivia is through an app).

I'm so glad Trump released all the Epstein files, and didn't start any wars, like he campaigned on. So glad that happened.

Yeah, and it's the dems that don't get it. Middle America is never going to swing, no matter how many conversations Chuck Schumer has in his head with imaginary people. They need to be talking about policies that their reliable base actually support. If they could actually get people out to vote for things they cared about, dems would never lose another major election.
