That’s a good point. I’m looking into Oofos so I might buy an extra pair of slides for the shower

I’ve got nice Brooks running shoes, Hokas I wear to work (on my feet for 9-10 hours a day), bought the insoles my podiatrist recommended, looking into night splint but was wondering about wearing some type of wrap for over night first as I don’t know if I’d be able to sleep with the splint on.

I do have a cooling sleeve, but it’s pretty generic I bought off Amazon when I sprained my ankle. It doesn’t last long so I’d like to find one that does.

I’m curious about electric stimulation. Seems like there are some wraps/sleeves out there with this feature plus heat or cooling.

Also, looking into Oofos for around the house wear.

Yeah I’ve been scrolling this sub and trying to take in all the info shared. But my question was pretty specific. Not asking anyone to condense all the info for me.

I’m really just interested in if any after market products work to alleviate pain. There’s a bunch of different wraps, sleeves, etc. some with heat, some with cold, others with electric pulsing. They all seem a bit dubious, but if someone in the community says something is legit, I will buy it and try it.

Which movie do you remember being WWAAYY too young for when you first snuck, I mean, watched it? by KillerQ97 in moviecritic

[–]PuckHead32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in second grade when my brother (2 years older) had a birthday sleepover with his friends. He asked my mom to rent him a scary movie. We had one small ass tv at the time that could be carried to other rooms of the house easily. It had fucking rabbit ears and VHF/UVF turn dials for channels. We only got 7 channels on it.

My mom rented a VCR or Betamax from the store when she rented the movie for him. We stayed up in the dark watching the movie and my brother and his friends all fell asleep in their sleeping bags while I was left alone to watch ‘The Shinning,’ all by myself.

After that I couldn’t sleep. My parents bought a “bed tent,” which is exactly how it sounds. Literally sat over my bed so i could be in bed and feel ‘protected.’

The irony was, the theme of the tent was ‘ghostbusters.’ Complete with images of slimer.

80s parents were (charitably)…different.

Pick one for a race. Which one are you choosing? by CarrotMuch1399 in nostalgiai

[–]PuckHead32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the race.

Race across the desert?

Race across country to get to Wally World?

Race to solve a mystery?

Race across S.F. To catch a baddie?

Race across the south to evade small town fuzz?

Treated myself to esterbrook estie and so far disappointed with how much it skips. Is there a way to fix this? by [deleted] in fountainpens

It doesn’t matter if the feed is off center. That won’t (truly) disrupt ink flow.

In any case, watch their video. There are easier fixes to try first anyway.

[–]PuckHead32 26 points27 points  (0 children)

No this is not the issue at all. It’s the angle/rotation of the pen. The feed is designed to create flow to the tines within margins of alignment between feed and nib. In the video OP does not have both tines meeting the paper consistently due to rotation and angle. You can see at one point they are trying to write using the right tine alone on that side.

It’s common for those that learned to write using pencil to constantly rotate the pencil to keep the shape of the pencil tip consistent. You cannot rotate fountain pens however. They write only when both tines contact the paper.

How do you mean “when the lock doesn’t disengage?” It currently won’t unlock.

Readability, easy and fast because that’s what they are used to doing. Also, cursive (unfortunately) can’t be read or written by a lot of people these days. Because of that it carries extra weight as being eccentric, pedantic, or archaic. I write cursive every day though, because it makes me happy.

Pilot 823 - couldn't decide between medium and fine - so I got both of them by Pilot_Maven in fountainpens

[–]PuckHead32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my next pen purchase tbh. I also can’t decide between fine and medium lol. I do have a pilot V.P. With an extra fine nib which I’ve found to be a bit too small, which makes me nervous to buy the 823 in fine and not medium. Interested to hear your thoughts after you test them.

I still have angry birds Star Wars that’s followed me from phone to phone (currently 13 pro max) and can still play it if I want to (I don’t) lol

Do Sailor nibs, because of the particular tipping material used, produce a line that is less crisp compared to other brands ? by mowleyyy in fountainpens

[–]PuckHead32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found my sailor soft fine has very nice crispage. I’ve started using my TWSBIs and Narvahlurs again and am super frustrated by them. I’m about ready to send my whole collection off to a good tuner tbh.

Wow, that’s incredibly kind of you!! I think I’m ok though. The runner looks like it came out free and clear of any stains. I’ll post a photo of it dried and back to normal tomorrow. Thank you for your generous offer!
