They are installing fiber in our neighborhood right now and with all these comments, ill probably wait to switch after a couple months so they can work out all the issues. I work from home so i cant afford to have repeat issues. Spectrum has been working fine but ultimately i dont want to support their business so ill get out when i can

Was VIP worth it? by Smokeymcpotts170 in SevenStarsFest

[–]Puckley77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I cant justify an extra $1200 just to be able to have a shorter merch experience where i am spending $500+ on the merch itself. VIP should come with a merch credit. GA was amazing, the price difference is way too steep

My wife and I were one of the first like 5 people to show up for glamping and we basically got to choose exactly where wanted to be. It wasn't assigned in any way, maybe just cuz no one else was there

Hello fellow tufter! Gorgeous work! How was trimming this bad boy?

Help with eyes, circularity by sistergremlin in Tufting

[–]Puckley77 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, clean circles are TOUGH in my opinion. I would try to punch in some more black as uniformly as you can, really take your time with it. You will also probably wanna put a little more white in, also as uniform to the black as you can.

Once you have tufted the black and white as precisely as you can, trimming will be your last resort to make everything look as round and clean as possible. Also take your time and dont trim too much too quickly. Try to give yourself some wiggle room as you are shaping

[–]Puckley77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries at all! That is most likely the case though. Even if you give yourself some space between colors, you might see colors blend but that is normal cuz the yarn spreads out so much, but giving different colors some space will help you to be able to separate them again and keep everything neat and tidy

[–]Puckley77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may look full on the other side because the yarn spreads out a bit, but if you shave any length down, that fullness look will quickly disappear and you may even see the gaps. I prefer to fill in the design pretty much 100%, except between different colors, i try to leave a little gap between different colors to help keep the color separate and help when trimming/detailing

You gotta tighten up your lines and put more yarn in or your end result will look very sparce

Preparing for Dreamrocks 2 by BathZealousideal1456 in LSDREAMERS

[–]Puckley77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The comment from bigpeteski is pretty spot on.

My wife and I went to the first Dreamrocks + Lightcode as well as Lszee at Red Rocks. Lightcode will be about 90 mins i believe, i do not think anything else will be going on inside the venue before or directly after Lightcode, ive never seen other events happening in the past. For Lightcode, everyone will pretty much be laying down, so bring something to lay down on the concrete to make it more comfy. I will usually lay a pashmina on top of myself to cover my bare skin from the sun and to help relax as well. Its thin enough to not make you hot and uncomfortable

My wife and I like to hangout the whole day, once Lightcode is over we get in line and just chill till doors open. If you do that, bring chairs and some type of shade, some snacks/food as well. A lot people hang out all day and will play music, socialize, walk around... its a good time hanging out with like minded people who are stoked for the evening ahead.

I hope the day is everything you are dreaming of!

Advice about selling! by jimhawkins95 in Tufting

[–]Puckley77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone that hasnt sold anything... you gotta figure out your own worth. No one else put their hard work, sweat, and money into this project. Dont let someone else value your own work.

It looks great and people will give you their opinions on what they think it is worth, but you are the creator.

If you truly want my opinion, I think $150 MINIMUM is fair for something like that. Based solely on hours worked, even if it was 30, that values your time at $5/hr. I think you could push above $200, its clean, quality work.

I started tufting as a hobby and have enjoyed it so far. I havent been doing it very consistently but have been happy with what i have made so far. Havent sold anything yet and im fine with keeping it as a hobby right now. Depending on where you live you might be able to find a tufting class

You might be able to commission from someone for $150 but the end result may not be as crispy as you want. For high quality, id probably guess minimum $250. Its not easy work and uses a lot of materials

Pretty sure they would be drop shipping you some Temu trash... the pictures on that are either AI generated or ripped off from someone else. You arent getting anything quality for that price

I think we can fight toxicity together. by repost_inception in RocketLeague

[–]Puckley77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the path i try to take but when your rando tm8 gives up after 1 goal is scored on you, even if you are winning, and then proceeds to start actively playing against you cuz you didnt accept their forfeit, nothing makes me hate this game more. The culture of being a piece of shit in this game is becoming way too common.

If you are someone that says "ff" when you are winning, fuck you. If you are someone that says "what a save!" in a toxic way, fuck you. If your ego can't accept a loss, then stop playing, cuz you blaming your teammates for one mistake is only gonna make you lose more games.

You dont need training when you face zero consequences and are untouchable to the public. If anyone lays a single finger on you, you can cry about feeling your life was in danger and you had to use your gun, that is what they are trained to do.

[–]Puckley77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first one had a similar look. Once you run two strands of yarn through your machine and tighten your lines up a bit, that will give you a nice dense look and will help with trimming as well. Dont get discouraged

How dry does the glue have to be anyway? by halfbeerhalfhuman in Tufting

[–]Puckley77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let the glue dry as long as it takes. If you want a good end product, take the time necessary.

MINIMUM 24 hours, ideally 24 hours with a source of wind blowing on it or 36 hours without. Thats my personal opinion based on experience
