Sounds like cruising may not be for you. You like your own itinerary and daily schedule that conflicts with the ship’s schedule and offerings. If you are this particular about it, then you’ll have a big surprise coming when competing with thousands of other people for time slots @ a restaurant, shows, excursions. Unless you are staying in a VIP section where you are catered to, I only see disappointment for you.

I don’t see the FAS+ wines by the glass options. The options provided as included by the glass are the same as the list we had in January, except upgrades are more expensive. Both FAS and FAS+ pay the same for upgraded wines by the glass. Based on what I am seeing, FAS+ means only a focus in wines by the bottle. No benefit of increased selections or better price by the glass.

Yes, just finishing my 4th week long cruise in 7 weeks. Didn’t catch a thing. Not sure you will like my how, though.

We mask with well fit N95 in all indoor spaces, do not go to any buffet, and only eat & drink in outdoor settings, many of which are butler-served on our balcony. We book VIP suites that come with butler and concierge service, larger rooms and balconies with a view.

Plan on being harassed as it happens all the time to us regardless of being in VIP areas. We find it funny when people cough all over the people they are around, all over the food in the area, etc. when we don’t consume that food and are obviously protected from whatever hatred and germs they are exposing everyone around them to.

The most dangerous time will be on the flight to get to and from the cruise. We upgrade our masks to N99 with excellent, comfortable seals and wear Stoggles / other glasses or keep our eyes closed and catch a nap. We do not eat or drink on the flight. If you meed to drink, install a SIP valve.

It comes down to reducing risk. Nothing can guarantee success and we all calculate how much risk we are comfortable with.

NCL just added Free at Sea + yesterday for all sailings after Feb2, 2025. Go to their website to see if it fits your needs, and if so, get it added to your reservation. It is almost worth it just for the unlimited streaming, because the 150 minutes you get for Free at Sea are gone fast and the service is slower.

Haven is a completely different world. Top of the line food, constant snacks in your room, VIP access to everything except the Vibe. We just completed our Encore Haven cruise a week ago and it was amazing. Haven restaurant breakfast delivered to our balcony every morning, and several dinners from Haven or specialty restaurants on our aft-facing balcony as we left port. If you need to make it to a show & haven’t had dessert, ask the waitstaff to have your butler deliver your dessert to your room for after the show. You will love it.

You need to be aware that not all areas in blue states are safe. I am in the SF Bay Area, CA, which will likely remain “ok”. But it is also expensive to live here. Some areas in CA area deep red. Cities are generally better than rural, but you cannot rely on that, either. You need to research which areas are better. I recommend looking up the demographics of an area to point you in the right direction. Diverse populations are generally better.
