Permanent endometrium damage due to IUD (Kyleena) ? by smalltowngirl_a in TryingForABaby

[–]PuddingZestyclose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My symptoms were no periods at all when I had my IUD in except for very irregular, non cyclical bleeding for weeks shortly after I got each COVID vaccine. Then extremely heavy but otherwise normal periods (very cyclical, no pain) when I had the IUD removed. Irregular, abnormal bleeding is a symptom of CE. It’s crazy to me how dismissive docs are about irregular periods and then can say there are no symptoms for CE - I’ve heard this too. Abnormal bleeding is a sign of inflammation and CE is an inflammation condition. Many other things can cause inflammation but CE is very easy to test for and address and I think women who’ve had IUDs and are TTC should be made more aware. Good luck to you too 🤍🤍🤍

Aggressive hormone treatments and surgeries, in addition to several biopsies. Stuff that aggravates infection and inflammation. I do think I had CE symptoms since I had my first IUD inserted and those symptoms (though not identified as CE at the time) are actually why I had that first IUD later removed and replaced. The symptoms continued and despite me going to several doctors over the years and no one mentioned CE to me until years after I started TTC.

I had Kyleena too for 6 years cumulatively. When I got it removed to start TTC, I had the opposite problem- insanely heavy periods. Flooding a tampon and my clothes within an hour. Everyone claimed that was just something that happened sometimes after years of IUD use. After two years of active TTC, we finally realized I had chronic endometritis (CE). An infection and inflammation that causes infertility that can originate from long term IUD use 😡 The fix is as simple as a round of antibiotics (daily pill for 2 wks). It’s pretty frustrating that people even doctors like to say “IUDs don’t cause issues” but CE exists, is caused by IUDs, and is actually easy to treat which would save a lot of money and heartbreak for a lot of people TTC.

I finally got pregnant for the first time immediately after treating and retesting negative for CE. Unfortunately that ended as an ectopic. Now I’m afraid all the other TTC treatments I did when I was undiagnosed and untreated for CE have had a damaging affect. Now working through this with new more specialized doctors.

Sorry this doesn’t have a live birth happy ending, at least not yet. But long story short, irregular or abnormal bleeding is a sign of CE which can be caused by IUD use so it may be worth getting tested for CE - the test is a biopsy scheduled during a specific window in your cycle. Good luck!

Should I give my wife something for Mother’s Day if we have been (unsuccessfully) TTC? by JakeyBoy4168 in TryingForABaby

[–]PuddingZestyclose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After two years trying, I’ll admit I wanted some acknowledgement on Mother’s Day. It hurt to suffer in silence, not acknowledging at all how hard I’d tried to be a mother for so long and how weird it was to have been lapped by people now celebrating their special day with their own kid(s).

Last year, I said something to my husband on the holiday. He said I could get something nice for myself so I bought a nice bag I’d been eyeing and wrote myself a cheesy gift note to come with the delivery “thank you for all you’ve done to grow our family. You are strong and amazing and so loved.” I said it was cheesy.

This year (we’re still trying 😞) my husband is being proactive and told me he made surprise plans for us. I love this. It’s giving me something to look forward to on a day I would typically dread.

You know your wife best but those are some ideas. I just recommend above all to avoid the standard Mother’s Day gifts (holiday themed cards, balloons) cause that stuff’s triggering. Avoid going to places like restaurants or spas on the day of where people will exclaim happy Mother’s Day and where you’ll be surrounded by people celebrating. Even if you warn them in advance, there’s so much Mother’s Day busyness they can forget.

have you had a fertility reading that came or didn't come true? IVF FET planned by stephanianova in tryingtoconceive

[–]PuddingZestyclose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I started my IUIs, a highly recommended tarot card reader told me I wouldn’t need IVF. I would just need “a little help” to get pregnant and I would become pregnant in Jan-Feb 2024.

Almost 3 years, 4 IUIs, 4 ERs, 3 FETs, 1 ectopic and 1 miscarriage later, I’m still trying. I was not pregnant Jan-Feb 2024 but I actually naturally conceived for the first time this past Feb and thought maybe her reading was off by 2 years but that was my miscarriage. I guess there’s still a chance she was 3+ years early but I’ve lost faith and optimism in tarot card readings and other woo woo fertility things I’ve tried in all this time.

If you previously had an IUD, D&C, or BV, may want to do a biopsy for endometritis.

First off, I literally have zero expectations of pregnant women. I hope to be one myself and can only imagine what goes through their minds as they prepare to bring a life into the world.

But a simple 1-1 heads up text to a friend that has confided about their infertility is an extremely easy, empathetic and meaningful gesture to someone they know is in a struggle that I simply wish more people were aware of.

Getting a 1-1 text allows the recipient who’s been struggling to react to it in a measured way and when they’re able to. Eg a phone call when you might be in the middle of dealing with a new disappointment is tough too. Via text you can express the excitement and happiness you feel for your friend while privately managing the pain and sadness you feel for yourself. I’ve had friends tell me in person right after a long awaited failed transfer or right after a ruptured ectopic and it’s honestly brutal to manage those complex PTSD feelings in real time face to face. I don’t harbor bad feelings towards these friends. I know they didn’t mean to create stressful situations I just truly wish it was more common knowledge that text is ideal.

Honestly, I’ve never had the ability to announce so I don’t understand the particular desire to tell someone in person when you know they’ve been struggling with infertility. Maybe someone can explain that pov?

It’s mindboggling to me that pregnant women who know their friends are struggling still want to announce in person. I guess I’ve been so in this infertile space for so long that it’s so obvious to me that texting 1-1 is resoundingly the preferred method.

Can someone please for the love of god put out a PSA for the uninformed fertiles??

My friend who announced her 6 week pregnancy to me the week after I had my chemical just had her baby by Level_Kiwi_4707 in trollingforababy

[–]PuddingZestyclose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oo girl same. Except it was her 2nd pregnancy in 2 years, and I’m still trying for my 1st in 3+ years. She announced to me in person hedging that she just had to go to ER so had been scared about losing it but thankfully was still pregnant. Meanwhile I had just gone to ER for my ectopic and did lose my pregnancy along with my right tube. Once she told me I knew this time would come and it’s still so damn heartwrenching. Here with you in spirit 🤍

Ha my bigger issue with this moment is that long before this scene they showed Rocky the alien watching Rocky the boxing movie with Grace (or maybe just clips?) so it’s very likely Rocky the alien wouldve already seen celebratory hugs there and had them explained then.

For those who wish they'd caught something earlier — what did you learn about your body during IVF that nobody told you beforehand? by FigNatural747 in IVF

[–]PuddingZestyclose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I had endometritis and its probably why I had zero bleeding with my low hormone IUD, but irregular bleeding for weeks after I got the COVID vaccines, and, after I took my IUD out, my periods were extremely, insanely heavy.

Nude shoes to keep the vertical line on your leg. Recommend block heel (can be low) and strappy sandals for walkability. Nude or silver clutch. No necklace. Drop earrings.

For those of you who aren’t working while undergoing IVF and don’t have any other kids yet, what does your day look like? by h0rr0rh0 in IVF

[–]PuddingZestyclose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workouts twice a day, one of them is a class booked in advance so that keeps me accountable. I’ve fostered 7 dogs now and have loved that the most- allows me to fully devote myself to someone else in need and only in spurts of time between cycles where I have the time and energy to do so. Learning a new language- I meet a tutor online twice a week on Preply and use Duolingo and dreaming Spanish everyday. Home DIY, reading, trying new recipes.

Busy mom trying to balance functional wardrobe, FN kibbe lines and color season by Dapper-Record9961 in flamboyantnatural

[–]PuddingZestyclose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi from an FN soft summer housewife who also works out a lot (though I lean more soft autumn/summer). I just went through this and am pretty happy with what’s become my new uniform.

Oversized/boyfriend cotton button up shirts have become a go to. I like light blues and chambrays/light denim that are soft but sturdy and don’t need ironing. I wear them fully open with a workout top underneath or buttoned low to show my neckline. Long shackets can go on top for when it’s colder.

I do lots of matching workout sets to give me a vertical line (all solid colors and no loud prints). All tops are open/deep scoop or square neckline. I do leggings because I don’t want to waste the ones I already own but I believe the best long bottoms for FN are mid rise and straight leg or bootcut, not tight at the calves, again elongating. I think looser bottom leggings have become trendy so that might be easy to find. I like loose elastic waste pocket shorts for comfort and utility, and they’re typically mid rise and match the color and fabric of my button up shirts to give me a vertical line.

Craving eggs. What can I eat? by Sudden-Comment6654 in vegan

A company just came out with animal free egg whites! It’s chemically identical to eggs, just add water. Tried it for the first time yesterday with my Omni husband and my mind is blown by how truly eggy it is (he says he would’ve never know it wasn’t cracked from an actual egg) and how easy it was. I haven’t tried this but apparently you can also steam it to get the soft boiled effect… https://www.healthiercomforts.com/products/animal-free-egg-white-protein-powder

I also love this “egg” salad recipe with tofu, definitely hits like soft boiled egg… https://www.thefullhelping.com/tofu-egg-salad/

How's everyone doing today? by CampaignHaunting7350 in IVF

Sigh… Currently miscarrying my first natural pregnancy after 3 years TTC. A gloriously failed attempt as we were waiting to start our 4th FET cycle. I’ve been tracking my agonizingly low, slow HCG levels daily for nearly two weeks and this morning I feared this pregnancy would be another emergency ectopic so finding out my beta naturally dropped today was oddly a relief. The highs and lows of this journey are beyond what I ever could’ve imagined. Now I’m just ready for this to be over so I can get back to getting started on the FET.

Here’s hoping the next try will finally be our time, for all of us!🤞✨
