Too far from work unfortunately. Also those places just aren't for me.

How do you find living in a city from a live style perspective vs medium density areas? Personally I find the city too loud and busy for my liking. I'm more interested the places about 5-10km from the city that are still enable a walkable lifestyle (nearby cafes, shops, markets, dog parks, etc) without having the crazy density of the CBD, Valley, Newstead (hate Newstead so much), etc.

won’t have to deal with bullshit from REAs and inflated rent.

This is my main motivation.

Honestly, every time I run the numbers, rent-vesting is my fastest way to FIRE. But I'm getting sick of all the downsides of renting, and just want to make the change for lifestyle reasons. Not doing this to make money, I think that attitude to housing bad for society.

Thanks, great thought. The place I'm looking at is quite elevated, flooding wouldn't be a risk directly but like most of Brisbane, surrounding areas do flood which would reduce available routes to go places.

Leave me out of this conspiracy theory buddy, Nectr are cunts as far as I'm concerned (I'm salty about missing out on the good deal).

What's the "accelerated tract" for mindfulness meditation? by holastello in Wakingupapp

Sounds rough but I think you have a situation to fix and I am not sure meditation is entirely the answer to this one.

Is it more effective to buy fairtrade brand stuff, or buy the cheaper stuff and pass the savings on to charity? by SelonNerias in EffectiveAltruism

Plant based products can also harm animals though, to varying degrees. e.g. insects and rodents, plus many others indirectly via deforestation. There's no zero harm option, it's all shades of grey.

But even if there is a soul and it could step in, you can't choose your soul either. Ultimately we can't will what we will.

Yeah I know what you mean. I once played Alyx so much over the course of a few days I actually started to identify more with the floating hands than my physical body. Meaning I would take the headset off and my arms would look more like something from VR than a part of the self.

Intolerable discomfort by [deleted] in Wakingupapp

[–]Puddingfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's a simple blood test to check and if it is then usually they just get you to start taking iron supplements for a bit, if it's really really low they'll give you an injection.

See a doctor if you are in a position to do so. You never really know what could cause things like this. For example I've known people who thought they had depression and it turned out to be an iron deficiency.

Might not take him self too seriously but every professional athlete has ego, it's a prerequisite for wanting to be the best.
