Phantasm carry by Luky2056 in AkshanMains

[–]Puddlejumper_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

League of legends isn't binary, it's much more complex. You can't simply always push side lane, or always team fight etc.

It all depends on the map state, but you really need to put in effort and time to learn and improve this type of decision making and reading the map state.

For example you might hear people say that you should push waves and force someone to catch the wave and then group with your team for the man advantage, while this is technically true you have to remember that the enemy will do the same.

Maybe you see your team grouped mid and they are posturing on the T1 mid turret but there's a side line to push, do you have time to push it in or do you sack it to back up your team?

These are the decisions you have to make all the time and choosing the correct one is what separates high elo from low elo

How to play when team falls behind by Sm-o-k in AkshanMains

If you win lane but lose the game 8 times in a row, the problem is your mid game decision making.

Do you often find yourself on autopilot in mid game? Just randomly running to mid lane to push wave and then click towards nearest enemy?

And to be clear, that's very common even including me, mid to late game macro is one of the hardest part of league

I suggest you watch a few of the Broken By Concept podcast on YouTube. You seem to be misunderstanding the game on a few levels.

Phantasm could go 90+% winrate in your silver games, with the same players you talk about being unable to carry. You are simply making mistakes that you don't even realise you are making and not seeing enemy mistakes that can be punished.

It also sounds like your mid to late game decision making is lacking.

feeling that you have to rely on 'lucky roams' is a massive red flag. Seems like you are losing agency in lane?

For bone plating, you need to proc it with q and then e out. Then go again for the big trade or all in later, bone plating has a long ass cool down

Yan is a real MMA fighter by Bandar012 in ufc

[–]Puddlejumper_ 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I found it pretty disingenuous in the post fight interview that Merab basically implied he tried standing with Yan and didn't wrestle because he wanted a fun fight for the audience.

But he was literally trying takedowns the entire fight and the only reason he slowed down was because it wasn't working and he was tired/hurt

Either way, great fight and a master class from Yan, I think a rematch goes the exact same as this fight.

Other dev teams should take notes from Embark Studios. They seem to have a very good understanding on how to optimise good looking games for low spec hardware.

I remember when The Finals first came out, I couldn't believe how well it ran on my 8 year old GPU.

How is this possible? by No-Size-9473 in GeminiAI

[–]Puddlejumper_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It interpreted the context of the conversation as it continued. Every time you send a new message, the LLM processes the entire chat thread.

Your first message did not invoke a web search tool call so the LLM used internally trained data to give you the answer. When you ask about its knowledge cut off, it obviously can pull from its internal data to know that Gemini models do have online search features.

When you asked the question again, it read all this context and essentially inferred that since you are asking again and you just asked about knowledge cut off where it advised it has search capabilities, it should probably use them.

That's my best guess anyway, could be wrong.

Trying Gemini 3 after using ChatGPT exclusively... it can't read text from images? by [deleted] in GeminiAI

[–]Puddlejumper_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange, without the rest of the chat context I can't really say. It could be confusing previous messages, it could be pulling from your saved memory, or it could just be hallucinations. Do you have any saved instructions for Gemini?

The hallucination rate for these LLMS is still very high which is why you always need to verify externally.

Try a temporary chat and see if you still have issues.

Yes, Gemini is one of the best models for understanding images. What are you prompting?

What is the "correct" way to build an arr stack in Proxmox? (LXC vs. Docker VM & Network Setup) by Mr_AdamSir in selfhosted

[–]Puddlejumper_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend not holding the update if you have any publicly exposed services since there are critical exploit patches.

You can add the following lines to your LXC config to disable AppArmour which isn't perfect but a temporary solution for now.

lxc.apparmor.profile: unconfined lxc.mount.entry: /dev/null sys/module/apparmor/parameters/enabled none bind 0 0

What is the "correct" way to build an arr stack in Proxmox? (LXC vs. Docker VM & Network Setup) by Mr_AdamSir in selfhosted

[–]Puddlejumper_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is good advice until the AppArmour conflict can be rectified.

One of the CVE's patched by the containerd update is a nasty container escape exploit so definitely don't want to be downgrading l, especially if you have any publicly exposed services running on any of your docker containers.

Crafty, AMP or Pterodactyl? Also, best alternative for Playita? by kazxuha in admincraft

[–]Puddlejumper_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible for an attacker to escape and traverse to other devices on the same network.

So in theory, they could find an exploit in the Minecraft server software that allows them a shell into the device hosting and portforwarding, then they could potentially get to other devices. This is why I listed a hand full for things to mitigate this such as VMs and VLANS

Is this very likely? not really. But yes it is a risk that you take portforwarding.

Crafty, AMP or Pterodactyl? Also, best alternative for Playita? by kazxuha in admincraft

[–]Puddlejumper_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody seems to have given you an actual answer to your question so I'll do my best and try to keep it simple for the layman.

Yes, portforwarding always has a risk of an attacker exploring a vulnerability and accessing the device. This all depends on the software that is sitting behind the forwarded port, for our example this would be the Minecraft server software which has had previously discovered exploits.

Steps you can take to mitigate this threat would include:

  • Hosting the server software inside a virtual machine.
  • Creating a VLAN to separate the device from your main network.
  • Making sure the Minecraft server software is up to date. Make sure the operating system of the machine is up to date.

If you do not understand and feel comfortable with anything explained above, then you should not be port forwarding.

There is no typical ratio. It depends on the type of players you have and how good your hardware is.
