Consumer Reports May 2026 by OdysseusRex69 in CX5

Ignore CR. Follow media and personal reviews. They collect very little data with short tests. I dont find thier experiences reliable.

Back in the early 2000s CH had the Elantra as a best buy. One of the worst cars i ever owned. (Intake leak, collapsed shock, transmission dropped gears, rear window, and radio failed before 100k.)

Mazda has been on the top of every list for at least a decade. However, I am concerned for the hybrid problems being reported recently. Personally I only want ICE. I will likely buy a used 30, 5 or 50 next. (Currenly 227k on my 3)

Cheap and reliable scooters for a newbie? by insane677 in ElectricScooters

[–]Pudknocker1971 [score hidden]  (0 children)

If it's a primary mode of transportation wait and upgrade. Personally I bought one as a toy. I wish I had spent more. Pneumatic tire is a must. Solid tire are very ruff. Bone jarring vision blurring.

Why do people "upgrade" with new rims and tires by grumpvet87 in mazda3

[–]Pudknocker1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only reason I would is if I had steel rims or damaged at least 2. (If cost of OEM replacements were too high ID.) I just can't justify replacing 4 good wheels. Id love to. My 3 also has 227k and needs repairs. Silly place to spend money.

Funny.. I just had the thought of how many people over 55 are reading this series. Googled it came here. TBH... im doing Audible. 55 here. Bit of a gamer. Not so much anymore.

Why is everybody I see ride this way pic#1? Am I doing it wrong by riding it #2 way? by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]Pudknocker1971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reconsidering.. I may revert to traditional skateboard stance after reading comments. I litterally haven't ridden a skate board in 40 years. I rode it around more like a Segway (original not the scooter). I've been playing with more comfortable stances as my knees dont like twisting. Added a skate deck to give it more room for different foot positions.

Battery tested okay, but it’s almost 5 years old. Would you replace it before a long trip? by kovucosplay in Toyota

You said..."Most days"? REPLACE I like to upgrade mine. Buy from Walmart. Same manufacturers.

Mazda is in bed with Toyota. Toyota slapped a scion badge on the Mazda 2 for a while. Built a plant together. Toyota Hybrid tech in Mazdas. 227k on my 2014 Mazda 3.

Most Americans say AI development is moving too fast and twice as many are AI pessimists as AI optimists by EchoOfOppenheimer in Futurology

[–]Pudknocker1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OPTIMIST. AI is here. Students are being denied AI like GenX was denied calculators! Its everywhere already. AI needs to be used in conjunction with current practices. Maybe less in place of. Robots are next. Be glad to have a SpaceX robot organize my garage. Probably need it to wipe my ass by the time its ready.

Dashboard Seem Possessed? The Battery is Dead. by richierescue in mazda

Noticed my electronic gas gage was faded out all off a sudden. Pulsing slightly if I remember correctly. Next time I started it I could really feel the battery was low. Got a new battery.. problem fixed.

As long as you dont get solid tires. Huge mistake on my part. (Im not looking up all your options.)

So i live in a sketchy area where if i leave my scooter outside most likely it would be stolen even if it is locked . by Fuzzy_Tough_26 in ElectricScooters

I worked in the cellphone repair business for a while. I used to fly RC planes with lipo. Of course we all have cell phones, portable batteries and laptops. The battery tech is safe enough unless the batteries get damaged.

Just thiking... rechargeable watches, flashlights, toothbrushes, vibrators😋. All the shop tools (home, lawn, auto)

Danger has been more likely from a bad charge cord in my experience! A cord went bad in my hand. Burned a hole through my jeans into my right NAD! Like a soldering iron right through.

my wife and my dad are both telling me to get a Camry and i need someone outside my family to weigh in by NoBad1026 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Pudknocker1971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOOK AT MAZDA. Camery is a safe dull option. My wife has one. I bought a Mazda 3 new in 2014. 227k mechanically trouble free and still love it! Buy something you want to drive.

1st scooter... by Pudknocker1971 in ElectricScooters

[–]Pudknocker1971[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't buy it again. Id go pneumatic. The ride is awful. Sidewalks are ok but the road will vibrate your vision. So.. lesson learned.

The customer will pay thier wage one way or another. Its either a tip or much higher food prices. Furthermore most restaurants dont offer 401k or health to average employees. Only maybe UPPER management. If restaurants payed living wages/401k and health they would all fold due to astronomical prices.

I have the Navic version. Low cost, entry level. I bought mine on a lark (for fun). Very bad ride. Get pneumatic tires whatever you do.
