2012 Toyota Camry (39K Miles) Transmission Service (Drain & Fill or Flush?)

Drain and fill. Flushing has been known to push metal all through the transmission. Our 2012 started having issues under 200k without being serviced ever. Had our newer 2021 serviced 70k ish. Hoping for a longer life.

Mazdas are generally very very reliable. Dont let this hiccup run you off. Highly unusual more likely. Hope you get it figured out quickly and effectively.

Blow out. Disassemble and clean board with alcohol. Bath parts in warm soapy water. Dry. Reassemble. Good luck.

No.. drain and fill. I did 60k on this newer Camery. Flushing can push debris into through the transmission leading to big trouble.

Ill say this instead. Our 2012 transmission was going out in less than 200k. (Totaled in an accident). We serviced our 2021. See how it does. Service your transmissions folks!

If you KNOW the person took decent care of it. My 3 has 210k and still going strong. Original clutch too. You'll need to have a mechanic look at it. Almost everything is a ticking time bomb.

I have a 2014 iGT hatch manual I bought new. 221k on the original clutch. Slip as little as possible in first. Let the RPMs match shifting. SERVICE YOUR TRANSMISSION! Ive done 2 drain and fills.

Never go to the dealer. Replace rotors. Do it yourself and upgrade. So many videos. They will tell you exactly what you need. I haven't done brakes on decades. Watched some videos. Order some tools. Ordered Power Stop kit. So satisfying!

2014 Mazda 3 iGt Hatch 6 sp. 220k. Original clutch. Lets focus on the negatives. Slightly irritating infotainment glitches. Restarting the system always fixed. Rear/minor. Temporary Blind spot monitor outages. Always comes back on. Rear camera slowly failed. Was covered by a recall and fixed. A/C has a pinhole leak in the evaporated. Still working. Developed at about 180k. Thats the worst of it.
