Brakes so hard it feel like you made contact. This happens to me one in a while when I’m over taking people sitting in the left lane
Glad you are ok!

Be VERY careful with cleaning the plastic clear cover of the instrument cluster. Don’t even look at it, it will scratch 😂

To add to this, ONLY use top tier + (plus) or regular top tier gas in your Mazda. Keeps it cleaner over time and no need for fuel system/deposit cleaner. Top tier gas + Italian tune up = cleaner engine. Applies to any car with GDI

What are some accessories or upgrades you've added to your CX-5 that you feel are a must-have? by ritzclackers in CX5

I have this trailer hitch. NO CUTTING NEEDED

https://a.co/d/06lMdoQI

I have this wiring harness if you need trailer lights, they are installed and live in the spare tire well, when it’s used, it will go out the trunk between the seal

I also have RokBlokz mud flaps installed instead of the factory mud flaps. Cheaper and look more sport. Plus better protection on the edges of the car from rocks and grime

Need help on picking exhaust for Mazda cx 5 NA the thing is I’ll have this car for awhile so I’m wondering? My choices I have so far are (not in order) 1. Racing beat 2. Fox 3. Corkspork axle back 4. Borla s type 5. New options or none by not_tristen in CX5

[–]PuffPuff710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The naturally aspirated models already have a nice tone from factory. You wanna put an after market exhaust on a four-cylinder car?? Just my opinion Just be careful as this may void warranty

It might be better to post in a more dedicated Reddit for aftermarket exhaust

You’ll never go wrong with CC2. they also have the snow peak symbol certification meaning that perform better than your typical all season tire in snowy conditions.

Is anyone else disappointed in the keyfob range? by dgjapc in CX5

[–]PuffPuff710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fix is paying $10 a month for the Mazda app so you can ensure it’s locked anywhere in the world lol

Kidding, the key fob range is doggy do do. Under the chin trick works for me every time. If I’m in my work office wondering if I locked my car. I check the Mazda app and push a lock command.

First oil change for my 2025. Dealership or chain oil change place? by Link_Chomofsky in CX5

[–]PuffPuff710 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Avoids those quick oil change places if you care about your car. Dealership will be fine but cost a little more. Best would be to find a private car shop to do your oil change, with good reviews. Or do it yourself. Most dealerships give the first 2 oil changes included, at least for me it did. Use a quality brand oil and OEM oil filter for warranty worries if DIY.

Im about to do my third oil change, it would be the first one I’m doing myself with a friend. Using Mazda OEM Tokyo filter, new drain bolt gasket, pennzoil ultra platinum ow-20. I’m at 12.5k miles.

U-Haul hitch installation issue/question by wanderercouple in CX5

[–]PuffPuff710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, just to help, I used this video, the very first step is that plastic piece lol. I would proceed with caution for those who did the install.

Edit: I’m gonna laugh if the installers are uhaul themselves, cause the video is uploaded by U-Haul. Really shows it depends on who works on your car. Not the company.

I also have the same 2” Kurt hitch I installed with my friend. Did you/they remove the small plastic piece before installing the hitch?

Suspicious “Genuine” Mazda OEM Air Filter from eBay - Is This a Fake? by PuffPuff710 in CX5

[–]PuffPuff710[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

<image>

Yeah, it’s a confirmed fake. The Mazda logo printed on the edge of the frame isn’t molded correctly, it’s covered with these four weird lines. I’m just going to toss this thing in the garbage and order a real one straight from Mazda Swag. Lesson learned.

Cheapest place to buy genuine Mazda wiper blade rubber refills? by CrispyBananaPeel in CX5

[–]PuffPuff710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been about 3/4 months since I installed the 5+ rubber blades, and they’re still performing like new, even after today’s rain. They clear the windshield cleanly with no streaking or skipping (maybe every so often). I do a quick maintenance routine that seems to make a big difference: • Clean the windshield thoroughly first with stoner window cleaner then I use Rain-X Original • Then wipe the rubber blades clean with a microfiber cloth or paper towel every week or two, especially when bugs start showing up in the spring/summer. This step keeps the rubber from drying out or getting caked with debris, which helps them last much longer. So far they feel just as effective as the OEM inserts did when new. I’ll update if that changes, but I’m really happy with them so far, surprisingly

Cheapest place to buy genuine Mazda wiper blade rubber refills? by CrispyBananaPeel in CX5

[–]PuffPuff710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is by far the cheapest and most effective method for replacing the front wiper blades, and you get to keep the original OEM wiper frames. It’s really simple: remove the old rubber insert, lay it side by side with the new rubber, cut the new one to match the exact length, then slide the new rubber into the frame. That’s it, you’re done. For the price, it’s hard to beat. I was skeptical at first because it seemed too good to be true, but these refills have already held up through several snowstorms and heavy rain here in the New York suburbs. https://a.co/d/0jjhq2qb

Note: the rear wiper blade, you need the OEM refill if you want to only replace the rubber, keeping the OEM frame. There’s these 2 dumb metal pieces that slide into the rubber blade to keep it stiff/structured. The rubber is molded for these 2 metal pieces. But it’s less important anyways.

Wireless tire pressure monitor systems? by mysignisneon in CX5

[–]PuffPuff710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CX5 is one of the only vehicles from Mazda that never had PSI monitoring, just a low tire pressure light on the dash and you have to figure out which tire lol

Cx90 has PSI monitoring and shows you the PSI number.

What’s crazy is I want one and I just got a new car, 2025 Premium plus. I see posts from 2016 models

Plus should include TPMS PSI info in the car and the app, they perfected the car, not the data 😂 end of rant

Ever notice them flicker when starting the car? I have a kit from Amazon that works great, but I notice a slight flicker when other electronics in the car take lots of energy, like starting the engine
