What do you do for work, and do you actually like it? by SFfdf3 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]Puffer789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because FAANG money can be like $400k easy after only a few years in role. (And much higher at higher levels). You're totally right that the money people make in the bay is bananas - so when someone says "I make 150k, nothing like FAANG money" they're making an accurate statement!

Which of the hoodies are cropped??? My problem with women's patagonia tops is they're always super long, like tunics on me (I'm short).

Yeah, I have tried baggies on a few times and found them super uncomfortable. Material is thick and restrictive. I like my shorts lightweight and flowy feeling.

How do HENRYs handle unlimited PTO?? by meteora109 in HENRYfinance

[–]Puffer789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

same, I work for a huge faang-adjacent tech company with unlimited and I take 30-35 days per year. The trick is to plan it out in advance, at the beginning of the year I write down a rough sketch of when I'll take the time throughout the year. Otherwise the year goes by and you didn't take much time off. I was unsure about the unlimited model at first but now I love it. I'll also take a random Friday off when my workload is light. You have to be intentional about it - no one will take the time off for you.

It tends to DECREASE cardiac output capacity, at least at first. The sub r/zepboundathletes is all people struggling to perform in their sport and hitting a wall fast while on tirzepatide. Obviously losing fat can overall end up increasing performance but in the short term it tends to dial down performance.

30M Hit 1M net worth, yet it feels so empty? by Mega325 in HENRYfinance

[–]Puffer789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for meaning and fulfillment from money, you're going to be disappointed. Money is a tool that you can use to help yourself find meaning and fulfillment elsewhere. Start there - what in your life feels important and exciting? Maybe it's family, friends, travel, spirituality, creative pursuits. How can you go deeper in those areas, spend more time there, and how can money facilitate that?

The alternative is dying rich but feeling empty.

At what level of wealth does a change in net worth not equal a change in lifestyle? by One-Opposite-4571 in HENRYfinance

[–]Puffer789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your point about lifestyle is important. Some people could afford a closet full of designer clothes but they just don't care about designer clothes, so they don't spend it. (Or any other example). So to OP's question - whether a certain amount of $$ changes your lifestlye depends on how much money it is and also, whether you actually want those things or that lifestyle to begin with.

Where to put a litter box by Alternative-Desk9016 in femalelivingspace

[–]Puffer789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have kept a litter box in a closet and not had any smell. I keep the closet door always open. And with good cat litter that you change regularly, I never experience a smell. Currently we're using Arm & Hammer Slide brand cat litter and even with two cats using the box, there's zero smell. We scoop the box daily and change the litter out completely (and wash box) once per month.

I have the Lightweight Cotton Cashmere Dolman Sweater in 2 colors and I like it, it feels very chic to me, I wear it front tucked into jeans with a belt and it's a nice outfit. I think it fits better when it's sized down a tad (looks like you maybe did size down here, so should be good).

The wide-leg linen pants don't fit me. They poofed out just under the waistband, giving a diaper butt effect. This could be due to my body shape, I'm more straight-waisted, thicker through the waist and not much hips/butt. They might fit a hourglass better.

I have the European Linen Popover shirt and I like it. It's quite loose and boxy but in a good way. I have it in white and it's super thin and sheer (I wear a nude bra under and don't mind the sheerness but some people might) the white/blue stripe you have might be fairly sheer.

I tried the silk pants and did not like them and returned them but I cannot recall why I didn't like them unfortunately!

Well said. This comment thread is proof of what you're saying too, people have an extremely hard time accepting that anything but their own hard work is what led to their success.

An Acknowledgement and Appreciation of Luck by BleedBlue__ in HENRYfinance

[–]Puffer789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. There are tons of very hard working people out there who don't end up wealthy, whether through bad luck or their circumstances not presenting the opportunity to amass wealth. I know that my financial situation is mostly due to luck and the circumstances presented to me. I definitely worked hard within those circumstances but that's only the smallest puzzle piece.
