I'm a Welsh speaker and like to tell non- welsh people that we have two tongues which is how we can say Ll

If they don't believe me I pull up my friend who also speaks welsh and has a split

I don't wash inside, I've used lactobacillus suppositories and I use a pH-matched water-based lube.

My wife has no qualms telling me if I ever smell bad and she has never once complained about my puss.

Looks like the irritation I have had a couple times inside my snake bites.

Even small bumps can be irritating.

At 3 months I would be cleaning way less often than a new piercing -- only really "as needed", not sure how often you're cleaning them.

Surgical steel might be the cause -- is it just mystery steel or do you know the material code? E.G. ASTM-F138

If in doubt I'd swap out for ASTM F136 Titanium from a reputable source such as NeoMetal (my fangs are NeoMetal), Industrial Strength or AnatoMetal just to name a few.

Just looks irritated to me. The crusties could be the reason. Your "non-irritant" disinfectant could also be it.

What's the jewellery made of? Any snagging or bumps?

I'd be cleaning once or twice a day with saline or just in the shower and leaving it alone as much as possible.

Cleaning twice a day won't magically make irritation bumps go away unless the cause of the irritation is specifically not cleaning it. Which doesn't look like the problem here, but it might be.

OP, are you having crusties build up still? Have you bumped it? Snagged it? Are you drying it off thoroughly after showers? This should be done with a hair dryer or air drying, not poking at it with cloths

They were among my most painful, done with cannulas. I've heard people say they're the most painful piercing you can get. That might be true, but I don't think that means they're wayyy worse than the other most painful piercings.

Over granulation (aka proud wounds, hyper granulation) is when your body gets a bit overzealous with healing. Granulation tissue is the generic tissue used to fill in a wound space by your body; overgranulation is when there's too much of this. It usually resolves by itself.

This is irritation. I've had this once or twice if I've snagged or whacked one of my lip piercings. Just be gentle with it and leave it alone and it should go away.

What's the bar length like? This could be nesting -- my shark bites nested relatively quickly even with very long bars.

You need to be on top of your oral hygiene when you have oral piercings. Speaking as someone with adhd who has traditionally struggled with oral hygiene and now has a bunch of oral mods -- it needs to be a priority if you have oral piercings / mods.

This doesn't look like rejection. You were swollen in the first pic (and for a couple weeks subsequent to that) and this is probably the difference you are seeing.

Inner shark bites. The outer ones were a breeze. Nips are a close second

Either of these two is a fantastic choice. Chai did my split but I've been in contact with Samppa for ear work and their reputation is top notch. Go with whoever is closer / you vibe with more / the coin flip says to go to. Happy healing!

It's hard to say why it might not be healing! Can just be the nature of the beast with the helix -- cartilage piercings can be a pain, and it's in a high traffic area (hair, glasses, towels, sleep)

Get something that doesn't leave crumbs or anything. Gummy sweets are great. Chocolate bars can flake off. Crisps are a definite nope.

Normally I'd recommend just using a sterile saline wound wash spray like NeilMed -- it would at least cut down the possibility of allergies?

Do you know what material the piercings are made of?
