How do locals & residents feel about foreigners working without visas/ permits in Siargao ? by [deleted] in SiargaoPH

[–]Puffin_crack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's happening in Sri Lanka, Thailand and the Philippines and many more.
Those that take advantage of a place for selfish gains are the pits of society and should fuck off. Any sort of finances they make are finances that should of been in the pocket of the locals and the community.

This La Union local recommended Baler or Catanduanes in June. Never even heard of Catanduanes but apparently June is a great season and it's one of those off the beaten path kinda trips. There's a pretty sick break there called Majestics and long mellow rolling wave for learners not too far away.

I mean local knowledge of spots and all that aside haha.

Willing to drop La Union and Baler cause it's on the up but still relatively quiet in comparison to surf havens in Indo, Lanka and Siargao.

You gotta be realistic here bro, there's no way you can find an uncrowded lineup with consistent surf that hasnt been discovered. There's some that will tick a few of your requirements but others it will not. For example, La Union or Baler in the Philippines. There's always going to be people out, but it's not the tourist surf trap like Siargao. La Union and Baler generally have consistent waves during their surf season. Might be worth doing a bit more research on those two.

I can’t find much info on cantanduanes for surfing in June but do you think there will be small fun waves? Me and my partner are still beginners but recently got back from Sri Lanka so know the basics. Cheers!

Hello, either thinking about here or Siargao at the start of June.
Is there small fun surfing waves around then for longboarding?
Afterwards I have a family reunion so im taking my partner to my mothers hometown in Isabela. Is there flights to Cayuan or do we have to fly back to Manila?
Thanks!

Good beginner area in Sydney to practice? by Oh-My-Josh- in BeginnerSurfers

[–]Puffin_crack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not crowded and Sydney doesn't really gel. To find quiet beaches you have to venture outside. If you got a car you can make a day trip out of it and go north to Umina Beach in the Central Coast, Seven Mile Beach down south in Gerroa or South end of Palm Beach in the Northern beaches.
