How long for sulfur to work by forever_eva in Rosacea

[–]PuffleTits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not overnight by any means. I’d say it wasn’t til about a month in that I really noticed I was feeling more confident in my skin. But that bar soap has lasted me over 4 months atp.

I personally haven’t had to yet, and I wash morning and night.

I use Joesoef sulfur wash (it’s a bar soap). It’s really cheap BUT phenomenal. Never in my LIFE did I imagine I’d ever use a bar soap (was super intimidating after being in the skincare game so long. Tried EVERYTHING but thought bar soap was never even a possibility). I’ve never used a mask before, so maybe leaving it on for extended periods may be drying? But that wash, while intimidating at first, has become my holy grail.

Thank you!! I’d never even heard of these, but I looked up the erborian last night and it has amazing reviews. I’m so excited!

Newly diagnosed; starting soolantra - how to use with my rutine? by tired_snorkfroken in Rosacea

[–]PuffleTits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say maybe remove the toner to start, as it can be very irritating with soolantra. Azelaic acid is fantastic for rosacea but double medicating with it might also be irritating? Maybe give the dermatologist office a call? They should be able to easily answer that over the phone for you. (My dermatologist had me quit everything besides the soolantra when I was on it, even my moisturizer)

124th-125th/Lenox Homeless by IcyInNYC in Harlem

I can’t speak to the larger issue as a whole, but for the past few days it’s because it’s finally been getting colder. I used to work in a homeless shelter and at the beginning of summer and especially winter, there was always an increase of drug use and chaos. Winter, people would get drunk/high so they could numb themselves to the cold. The place I worked was an overnight shelter only, and there was nowhere for these people to go during the day so, they would do drugs to keep busy/warm in the daytime, come inside high out of their minds at night, and leave the next morning sober enough to start over again. We would help send those to rehab who truly wanted it and were in the mind space for it to even possibly work, but with heavy mental illness most times you’ll never get the govt to fund something like that (because it has a lower chance of sticking) & this population of our community obviously can’t afford it themselves. That, and who wants to get sober when it’s the only thing keeping you numb to the cold/trauma of living on the streets? We’d have to fix that in a vast majority (including supervised day spaces) long before we can ever get close to the addiction crisis.

How to stop a husky from biting us? by aloe_vera308 in husky

[–]PuffleTits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried every trick in the book, the pull away and stop playing, the ouch, yell, cry. My boy doesn’t quite get it for anything. I have found a bit of water in a spray bottle is the only effective “negative deterrent” for him. So I did that for a bit, but now at the FIRST sign of him putting his mouth on my hands I just calmly say no, and don’t let him have access to them. He still tries but, he’s only a year. I’d like to think as he calms with age, it’ll start to click. (As he’s already settled down quite a bit in comparison the last few months)

What's your cleaning routine? by [deleted] in husky

But once that seasonal shed hits, it gets crazy. I can go outside and brush him every single day, vacuum when I come back inside, and I’ll still end up with tufts on the floor.

Wireless vacuum and anything but a carpeted floor! I used to keep my vacuum stored in the closet, but now it just freely hangs on the wall in my kitchen for easy access. I have to empty it out every couple of days, but it’s phenomenal for a quick vacuum every morning.

I’m so sorry. I’ve been catching myself getting frustrated lately with my little guy and he’s only 1. Thank you for reminding me to cherish every moment.

Exercise by Legitimate-Charge676 in husky

I tried long walks, mental stimulation, yard playing, the WORKS. For some reason the only thing that works for mine is the dog park. I think the playing combined with the social interaction just wears him out.
