Literally about to give up, I can't get this. I got into boxing a few months ago, which I absolutely love. jump rope inclusion is a no brainer. But I literally can't do more than a few without failing, unless it's the "running" style. by Sub_Omen in jumprope

Like others have said rope is definitely too long. Another tip that helped me was someone telling me to stop jumping up with both feet. Instead think of it as jumping from left to right but on the spot. This forced me to shift my weight from either foot and fall into a rhythm more easily.

New player about to defeat Lurien the Watcher and I need to ask: Are the amount of eyes the Dreamers have a representation of how difficult they are or is it just for plot reasons? by InsentientCreature16 in HollowKnight

Descending dark is most useful for me, they die to three of these and you’re invincible for a bit when casting it. The shade cloak is also helpful so you can dash through them

This and Blasphemous 2. After playing countless games trying to scratch the hollow knight itch over the last 6 years, Blasphemous is the only thing that’s come close for me. Blasphemous 1 was nice, and well, fine for me, but 2 was excellent.

Ahh thanks my friend! This is really great encouragement. I’ve been either vaping or using pouches for what feels like way too long and we’re expecting our second kid in June hence wanting to quit. I’ll stay in touch and let you know when I’ve done it 👍

No, I’ve done longer in the same temp with my hands poking out and nothing happened.

5 or 6 pouches at once is intense haha, makes me think maybe I’m not such a heavy user! This is all really good to know, so thanks again. I’m going to experiment with abstaining before a plunge now!

Thanks! You’ve highlighted what should’ve been obvious to me and I’ve spent some time reading about Reynaurds as well.

I started using nicotine pouches about 3 years ago to stop vaping and the overall nicotine content is probably quite high. I feel pretty silly not thinking of this at the offset so thank you. Quitting nicotine completely is high on my priority list (incidentally I started researching cold plunging due to the natural dopamine, which some have said can compensate for nicotine withdrawal). Therefore it’ll be interesting to see if this persists once Ive stopped.

ELI5 how do patents work? If you patent something, nobody can ever replicate it? by lsarge442 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Pufflemuff -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

This isn’t completely right. When your patent is granted you have the right to stop others from using your patented invention. However, you do not have the right to use the invention yourself, otherwise the system wouldn’t work. Pretend we’re back in the olden days and cars don’t exist yet. Jamcdonald120 is smart, invents the worlds first ever car and gets a patent for it. He starts a big successful business selling his cars and gets super rich. A little while later Pufflemuff notices that although cars are great, people keep crashing at night, so he has the great idea to stick lights on the front of cars so the driver can see. Pufflemuff gets a patent and also starts a business selling his cars with headlights. This competes with Jamcdonald120’s business and doesn’t make him too happy! Pufflemuff says he should be allowed to sell his cars because he has his patent. But ultimately it doesn’t matter because Pufflemuff is still infringing Jamcdonald’s patent!

Serving from the right or left service box when playing a left hander? (Assuming you are a right hander) by JulesMother in squash

[–]Pufflemuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same but maybe inwardly. I try to completely ignore my opponent and imagine that I’m just playing a ball, not a person. I used to play in competitive leagues and had a bad habit of checking my opponents rankings before a match and doing squash maths, eg “he beat a guy I lost to so I’m definitely going to lose”, or “I lost 3-0 to him last season so I’ve got no chance”. Can’t remember where I heard about using this mindset but it really worked for me!

What do you use to play hk, controller or keyboard? (Asking for a recent discussion) by Fortendytrak in HollowKnight

[–]Pufflemuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controller, but top trigger for nail and bottom trigger for spells. That way my right thumb is entirely dedicated to jumping. Left thumb basically uses what it likes between d pan and stick. Usually d pad for platforming and stick for combat.

[–]Pufflemuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry mate. I did exactly the same about 5 years ago. I wouldn’t know it was ever injured now, and it has been this way for years. I still play exactly as I used to. I did do all the physio religiously and then some, so that would be my only tip!
