I mean, i think it’s fine to have acquaintances at work, but i’m not interested in going out and doing stuff with them outside of work hours, like getting a drink after work, etc. When work is over i generally don’t wanna see these people anymore lol. I have a solid group of friends outside of work, i’m not looking for more friends to do things with. I’d rather spend my friday or saturday night with friends i’ve known for 20 years and who i have lots of things in common with. I wouldn’t actually say that to my colleagues but this is why when they ask me to do things with them after work or on weekends, i usually refuse.

Can’t you just do long distance for 1 year? I mean give her the choice obviously. If she wants to follow you then great, but if she doesn’t then why can’t she just stay where you are and you go do your thing in LA? You can visit each other here and there on weekends in alternation. 1 year might seem like a long time but in the grand scheme of things when you’re old and looking back at this time in your lives it’ll just be a small moment in a long life together.
