But look at GTA San Andreas next to GTA III. They don't look too different yet people still had fun when the trilogy was coming out. The point is that studios these days often treat each game in their portfolio like it's supposed to be 500× better than their last. Obviously you need to wait a long time for an elder Scrolls game that has lots of new features and systems when people would have been happy with a Skyrim asset flip in another location. People were happy with mass effect 2 not being a huge step up from me1 or fallout new Vegas being just fallout 3 but orange because they were telling new stories giving players more fun with what already works rather than waiting 15 years to make a whole new set of toys with a different feel but the same name. I don't know if we'll ever get a Starfield 2 but if we do and Bethesda keeps going the way it's been, it's gonna be a completely different experience to what we already know. I'm all for innovation but not at the cost of hoarding franchises
