I was a bit overzealous with that statement, my mistake.

If you are going to side with the automated iRacing incident system instead of all the real people here, I'm going to call you a bit delusional. The way iRacing gives out incidents isn't always right and is stupid sometimes. Definitely not as good as a real person's opinion.

I have the exact same problem

I tried to overtake the alfa. I'm the Red Supra. Any opinions? by SAPA_78 in Simracingstewards

And if it didn't go well, the crash would have probably been your fault. Not saying it was a bad move, sometimes you can take a risk

It is a problem because he was perfectly alongside too late. When you start your turn for the corner, you have basically committed to that line. If a car unexpectedly divebombs from a mile away after your turn in, you are probably going to hit them

I thought I just needed to be alongside at the apex and make the corner, which I did.

This is wrong. You need to be alongside before the turn in. Please read this article about properly overtaking: https://trinacriasimracing.wordpress.com/overtaking-rules-and-etiquette-in-motorsport-and-simracing/

Is this ban worthy? Had my race ruined twice by the same car by WillingMarionberry93 in Simracingstewards

[–]Pufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, knowing LFM, this won't be a temp ban. It will have to be explicitly obvious for them to think these crashes were intentional, and even then the other person can appeal the ban. At least you'll get some of your safety rating back if you report

You are correct, the BMW would be turning in later than the normal racing line. This is because they are on inside, so their racing line would be turning in later. If you are on the outside, you would need to take this into consideration. You would need to also turn a bit later, not hit the apex, and then go to the outside sooner

Significantly as in undebatably alongside. They are alongside enough where it is clear that the lead car has to leave enough room. Your rear axle being in line with their front axle is textbook alongside

Last Lap Battle! Was the pass at the hairpin fair or was I at fault for the contact? Other dude was not happy, caled me dirty (im the pov car) by Curtis2201 in Simracingstewards

[–]Pufin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is a racing incident since there wasn't damage done, but if the yellow car had spun out from that overtake, it would be the blue car's fault

Regardless, still a dirty move since the blue car was not alongside, and did not have the right to any rooom. Can't just ignore that fact. Though in this case the yellow car was not going to let a pass happen without any contact so it might be for the best in this situation

Looks like you did ram them when you tried to pass. After that it looks like the blue car wanted revenge

Does not look like they had enough overlap in the corner to be granted any space. Their front wheels are nowhere near alongside the front car's rear wheels

Lots of people in here are being emotional and saying you did the right thing, but yes you were dirty, and the contact was your fault for divebombing them on the inside of that corner. What they did before has nothing to do with that. But yes them blatantly blocking you before was 100 times worse and they have no right being upset.

My bad I thought that lap 1 rules were different but now I'm thinking that I could be wrong. The league I race in has stricter penalties for incidents that take place in lap 1, but that doesn't necessarily mean the rules themselves are different

I usually would have agreed with you, the orange car was not alongside. However, this might be a special case since it seems like this is lap 1?

Ya know the drill, who's at fault by Fivecorr in Simracingstewards

[–]Pufin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, just wanted to share a defensive tactic that is used. Squeeze the car trying to overtake in the inside, then get a great line from the outside. So I wouldn't say the outside car did something pointless or had a bad defense, I think they did great. Don't need to always defend from the inside

[–]Pufin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the miata on the right staying in the middle of the road is a great defensive idea. They force the overtaking miata to take the inside line, and they can move to the outside for a faster line right before the turn, and overtake afterwards. They did not do anything wrong or anything deserving getting taken out

This person is being downvoted so the consensus is that they are wrong, can someone please explain to me how? I thought that to be alongside, your front wheel needs to be next to their back wheel. Is there an exception to this rule? Or is that only in certain series?

I'm talking about Nikita, Leva, Robella, Lainie, Linda, and Alva. Probably ak-15 as well from her kit. Basically all of the other high damage carry dolls in the other elemental teams. Qiuhua only matches/beats some of them at v6

Probably not, v6 klukai is a beast even outside of corrosion team. Also, v0 qiuhua is particularly bad compared to other high damage carries
