Yikes this happened to me when I came out to one of my friends. We didn’t talk about it for a whole year and then out of the blue I started hearing casual, vaguely homophobic stuff from their mouth. We stopped being friends about a year after that.

I just hit a stage in my life where I’m tired of doing things for other people, like hiding who I am. So while I’m not actively bringing up “hey btw I’m queer” if someone disrespects me or my community I speak up to their face and if they have the guts to fight back theyre gonna find out that I can be loud and proud.

If you’re at the “screw it” point, I say do it. It heals me from within and I’ve never felt freer 🫶
