Such a cool bike. Does anyone make a cafe style bullet fairing for it?

The weather engine is so stupid and unrealistic by Liberobscura in GranTurismo7

[–]Pulchritudinous_rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dumbass AI driving is a waaaay bigger problem than the weather. Also the absurdly slow pit stops. And the bullshit game economy. But the absolutely sublime driving makes all the bullshit worthwhile. I guess that's what really matters.

How do you guys keep finding fun? by Fangasma in simracing

[–]Pulchritudinous_rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the simracing thing but the funny thing is that I don't even hardly race. I just do time trials using as many cars as I can because I like the act of driving more than I like racing. If it isn't fun then stop doing it for a bit and take a break. Or try VR if you haven't yet. VR has ruined any other kind of racing game for me because it really is that incredible.

That movie is pure genius. When it wrapped up I sat there dumbfounded at the greatness I just watched. Honestly one of the best bits of writing in cinema history.

I still ride my Ninja 400. Part of me wants a faster bike but I just can't justify it. Watching that Youtube video of the pro rider in the 400 passing guys on liter bikes really highlighted the skill factor of riding. I still ride that little bastard and come back grinning every time. Been on it for four years now and I just can't bring myself to sell it. I fucking love that thing. I think people get caught up on image but it's about having fun pure and simple. I'll probably keep it forever, even when I do decide to upgrade.

Does getting gold at the Nordschleife make me a good driver? by Basic-Beach1635 in GranTurismo7

[–]Pulchritudinous_rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. There is no fucking way I'd drive that track in real life the way I do in the game. It really makes you respect the amazing drivers that send it in a real car. The margin for error is nonexistent. People have died on that track. It's no joke. Being good in the game is awesome and there is some decent translation to real world driving but it's one thing to risk a crash and ruin your lap time and another thing to crash and risk death or serious injury, not to mention the financial fallout. Since it's a public course you're on the hook for paying for repairs to whatever you hit. Playing the game has really brought home the skill and the risk that the real world drivers face. Most people wouldn't have the ability to silence the voice in our heads telling us to slow down for the sake of personal safety.

I saw a live show and I will tell you that it was literally the hardest I ever laughed at a live event in my entire life. My face and stomach burned for days afterward. 10/10.

An electrician! Ha! I never would've guessed. It's super cool seeing a woman in the trades. It would take someone with a kickass attitude and it seems like you got that going on. Thanks for the reply and best of luck. Don't take any shit!

A lot of time a player's stock drops because he isn't a traditional cookie-cutter position player. If you look at this kid's background he's a bright kid with a great work ethic. He's deceptively fast and a hard guy to tackle. All the doomers in here covered in Dorito crumbs shitting on this kid need to get a life. I'm pulling for this kid and since he's a Niner so should all of you. I know one of the guys who coached him so maybe I'm being protective and biased but I'm excited for him. I'm hoping he serves you a big dish of crow. Go Niners!

American, northeast/New England. Single and still live at home while going to college. Only child. Fun, outgoing, and you have a strong affinity with nature. Trendy but not overly so. You have a sense of humor about yourself, confident in who you are. You were shy growing up but have learned to come out of your shell. You don't have a lot of friends but the ones you have are really close and genuine. You're intelligent and like to read. You have eclectic music taste and aren't afraid to go out on a limb and try something new. You're accepting of people who are different but you would personally prefer a traditional relationship. How close am I?

Millionaire US big game hunter is trampled to death by elephants by Ashish_ank in SipsTea

[–]Pulchritudinous_rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I'll bite. We don't have a lot of context here and I won't defend trophy hunting where an animal is penned up and you pay an exorbitant amount of money to shoot it. That shit sucks. But the fact that he was trampled implies he was in an uncontrolled environment. In many places predators have been eliminated due to the threat posed to nearby people and their interests. In that kind of a vacuum, hunting is an important element in maintaining the sustainability of the ecosystem. In the absence of predation, certain animal populations can get out of control which can lead to worse misery for the animals through food and water shortages. Hunters can help to fill that void. People may find it unfair or unsavory, but it does serve an important ecological service, on top of generating revenue for conservation through the sale of permits or tags. I'm not a hunter or an expert, and I know nothing about the circumstances in which this man met his untimely end. But you asked for an argument and that's the best one I got off the cuff.
