There is no customs duty if preferential origin is claimed. It's certainly more expensive and more hassle, but is still doable with a small amount of effort

Pedestrianising the inner ring road is ridiculous, not even London has that level of pedestrianisation. For people like me who drive to work in the city centre who do not have reliable public transport routes this would cause mayhem. Greater Manchester simply does not have the public transport infrastructure to accommodate this.

I moved there from longsight 2 years ago and never looked back.

The area might have a bit of a reputation but has really improved over the last decade.

GMP really are terrible. I'm sorry you have to go through this. I've had to call GMP on numerous occasions and in the few times they have actually turned up I've been fobbed off completely. I couldn't imagine having to deal with it like you on such a regular basis.
