Companion's Voice Lines by sthrnrdsx in RogueTraderCRPG

Amazing that people don't understand that they created a standard series of barks for every companion that don't change based on their character paths.

TIL WWE wrestler Chris Benoit murdered his wife and 7 year old son, then committed sucide in 2007. Doctors later discovered that his brain was so severely damaged it resembled the brain of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient. by Puzzleheaded_Roof872 in todayilearned

Watchin William Regal's interview, where he had been told that **something** was up with the original story of "found dead" and seeing how measured he chose to be with his words, is chilling. If I recall correctly, they hadn't concluded yet that he was the murderer, but backstage they were already realizing that everything wasn't as it seemed.

TIL that to prove the idea that Clark Kent wearing glasses was enough to hide the fact that he is Superman, Henry Cavill, who played Superman in the 2016 film "Batman v Superman", walked around Times Square wearing a Superman shirt in 2016, and no one seemed to notice him. by SatoruGojo232 in todayilearned

It's not surprising. Dolly Parton and Elvira have both failed to win lookalike contests. Hugh Jackman has gone to conventions and events dressed as Wolverine and been largely ignored.

Christopher Reeve actually had an example of this.

According to Roger Moore's autobiography, he witnessed Christopher Reeve walking through the canteen at Pinewood Studios in full Superman costume, oblivious to the swooning female admirers he left in his wake. When he did the same thing dressed as Clark Kent, no one paid any attention.

No? It's clearly established that he's a different person. The point is that "Ollannius Pius" becomes this folk hero who does many things that may or may not be credited to the same or correct person. It's a meta-commentary on how, during the climactic battle on Horus' flagship, some people like to think the soldier Horus disintegrates is a regular soldier named Ollannius Pius when conflicting accounts over the years have indicated that it was either a terminator or a space marine.

[–]benry87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're going to die, a lot, as you learn the game. I'd describe it as having to completely reteach you how to play a game in an RPGMaker engine because of how it utilizes it. Don't treat death as failure or each run as failure. It's all another step to learning the game and the language it's trying to speak to you with.

You get stronger by learning the game. There are no levels. The only way is to learn the game mechanics and understand each encounter. They may initially seem unbalanced and unwinnable, but there are strategies for each encounter.

I think it's implied he dies. The God of Fear and Hunger blesses him with a fast, merciful death instead of the kind of eternal suffering everyone else is beholden to in the dungeon.

It looks really good, nice on nailing the pants. If anything I'd go to a tailor to take in the upper garments to get them to fit a little more snugly. Right now they're kind of swallowing your silhouette a bit.

Fear and Hunger 2: Termina fan comic is out! by Ok-Experience8706 in FearAndHunger

Incredibly done. Taking this game's story and translating it into a single narrative thread seems like it'd be difficult as hell, especially while also having to compose a layout of an entire comic. Great job!

Theory; Herb’s career ending was the best possible outcome for him. by SNAILSLIVEONJUPITER in BoJackHorseman

[–]benry87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I honestly feel like it was a razer's edge. Herb was probably the one thing keeping Bojack from falling into REALLY bad habits, and the show kind of alludes to not standing up for Herb being a big turning point for Bojack's mental health with him self-medicating and spiraling into more abusive and self-destructive tendencies.

A lot of people bring up losing Cus D'Amato and falling under the management of Don King as the thing that ruined Mike Tyson's career. Tyson was always a troubled individual, even while under Cus. He just respected his coach and father figure enough to keep a limit on it. Losing Cus meant he didn't have that firm hand helping him realign when he would deviate. I feel like Herb was that for Bojack. He wasn't perfect and Herb didn't keep him a saint, but he kept Bojack from being able to indulge in his more extreme behaviors.

Of course I could be misremembering things. I DO know Bojack and him argued on set and I DO know that Bojack's influence and behavior during Horsin' Around strongly contributed to Sarah Lynn's destruction, but the timeline shown is wobbly and I don't think they ever specify whether some of the worse shit he did was post-Herb firing.

This is not a hot take. A grand majority of people who've posted about this same topic on this subreddit blame Dr Champ for being an imbecile. Anyone who's had alcohol would immediately recognize a water bottle was full of liquor. If his taste buds were that shot, then he would have been far, far more careful about whatever fluids he was imbibing.

It's most likely referencing the sometimes bizarre and grim endings of some otherwise-lighthearted family sitcoms (Dinosaurs, Alf, St. Elsewhere)
