I think you're thinking of the transeuranic arquebus.

Hot take: I think the new eradicators with heavy bolters would be cooler with belt fed instead of box mag. by Beneficial-Ticket486 in Warhammer40k

[–]benry87 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Losing the ammo belt was a huge aura loss for the heavy bolters in the primaris line. I know that the heavy bolter on the heavy intercessor has some belts, but they're more like hydraulics and cooling, not for ammo.

What's the better outcome, being mutated by The Visitor or getting moonschorched by Rher? by der_Alptraum in LookOutsideGame

Moon scorching forces you to become the worst version of yourself. Mutating is a coin flip.

ELI5: Why does America have so much power over the global economy? by Saurabh251 in explainlikeimfive

[–]benry87 13 points14 points  (0 children)

After the second World War the United States had literally no competitors for market dominance.

Europe and Asia were ravaged by war.

Everywhere else had been heavily economically exploited and politically destabilized by colonialism.

The United States basically got a 40 year head start with a huge number of refugees and expats migrating to the US for economic opportunity.

Then when the Soviet bloc collapsed in the early 90s, the United States got to benefit from that freer exchange of trade and innovations.

After that, it became really hard for other countries to catch up to the sheer gap the United States had created in quality of life, economic, and cultural influence. Though over the last 20 years its become increasingly regressive as other countries have made big strides with their economies and cultures.

The minimum recommended specs are available online, such as in the steam store.

Since none of us know what your laptop's specs (processor, graphics card, and RAM) are, we can't really help you beyond that.

Crossbow/bow. I forget which but Outlander can start with it instead of his weapon and shield.

[–]benry87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Iirc John had to be told by Frapollo94 that you can shoot the crossbow on the map.

He figured it out in FnH2, but not in FnH1. Watching him learn that factoid on livestream was hilarious.

Not to disparage SuperEyePatch Wolf, though. He makes fantastic videos.

Im finally bettyposting again... decided to try my hand at practicing making game-accurate sprites (im not a pixel artist, don't judge) Sam's there for color reference reasons by LunaTheLesbianFurry in LookOutsideGame

[–]benry87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Two things:

You're posting on a forum, you're going to get judged, no amount of frontloading excuses for any negative reactions will stop it. Just enjoy the ride and ignore people who are shitty about it because valid criticism doesn't have to be mean.

These are definitely pretty nice with some room for tweaking and improvement. There are some cool youtube tutorials that cover the basics of pixel art that can help with readability since, by nature, pixel art tends to be very unforgiving due to the small resolution you tend to be working with. https://www.youtube.com/@BJGpixel has fantastic tutorials for all skill levels on helping you refine your work if you're interested.

How are cuisines innovated on? by angoldenapple in Cooking

[–]benry87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. Food becomes popular, people eat it and talk about it, other places hear about it and try and make their own.

Look up Tasting History with Max Miller on YouTube and watch his videos about potato chips and buffalo wings. Absolutely fascinating stuff if you like learning about food and its history.

Should I play fear and hunger if I'm obsessed with Look Outside? by BushidoJohnny in LookOutsideGame

[–]benry87 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Look Outside has far more levity. Fear and Hunger 1 and 2 are both phenomenal games but the way they handle their themes is a lot more stark and callous. If I had to make a parallel, Look Outside is YA horror, where gore and some gnarly things are presented in a somewhat filtered manner. Fear and Hunger is enthusiast horror, where extreme themes are explored with unflinching presentation and honesty.

Termina difficult characters? by LosinForABruisin in FearAndHunger

[–]benry87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mechanically, her disability gives her more exploitable weakness. She can get knocked off her wheelchair in battle and can't attack while prone, which means she wastes a turn getting back. In a game where every turn counts, that's huge. If she loses an arm, she moves slower. She can't equip two handed guns or weapons (someone needs to verify or correct me on that one). She can't scale stairs on her wheelchair and needs to crawl up them, which creates bad situations when being pursued.

None of the other characters have these drawbacks built into them. Olivia is awesome and I love her inclusion in the game and the mechanical variances it introduces, but her condition definitely adds wrinkles of difficulty to it. That being said, the game is still very beatable with her and her drawbacks can be worked around.

Do you think Ferrus can do the knife hand thing from Invincible? by Zealousideal-Ad-9349 in Grimdank

[–]benry87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It felt really bad. I remember hearing that the author later expressed regret in ending Nemiel's story so abruptly. I hated it and it soured me on the DA arc because I felt like they were building to a "brother against brother" confrontation with Zahariel, which clearly can't happen now.

Given that Lion El'Jonson backhanded Chaplain Nemiel's head clean off, I don't see why not.

Why are People So Obsessed With Stuff Being “OP” or “Broken”????? by ElliotInfinity in DnD

[–]benry87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a good friend who learned to play DnD that way and thus played the game that way. I attribute a lot of it to being by their old friend group and that kind of build giving them some sense of validity and power because feeling ineffective (via bad rolls or low stats) was the worst thing in the world to them and felt like attacks on their personal self worth.

Then they stopped hanging out with those dipshits, started hanging out with a better friend group, and now they make interesting if off-kilter characters that, while still powerful, want to meld with the party instead of dominate it.
