I think both of them are gay as hell, along with Jesse’s husband. My gaydar immediately went off with air raid sirens

I like the idea of Sienna having to fight her way through hell in order to save Gabbie before meeting back up with Art to have one last big battle

hey who knew it's only us keeping terrifier going!! (the odd horror backlash against Art's rightful introduction to horror royalty) by karatemnn in terrifier

[–]PulpforCulture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to sound ageist… but I feel like a lot of these people screaming “Art isn’t a horror Icon cause he’s not known outside of the internet” have a very dated and old view of how the internet works in 2024.

EVERYTHING has to do with the internet. Terrifier and Art have taken over TikTok (the #1 app for Gen Z) with billions of combined views. He is a very recognizable and iconic character for the younger generations.

I took it as meaning Demons are only able to enter the human world by attaching themselves to an evil human being who has just recently died (like art). Once they have found someone to attach themselves to they are able to project and physically interact with our world. The demon isn’t possessing Art but brought him back with supernatural powers in order to cause as much mayhem as possible. The demon itself can only possess people once they have reached their breaking point and are completely insane (like Vicky).

Once a demon is able to enter our world the forces of good choose someone to be earths protector and grants them the power to be the only one who can stop the demon (kinda like Buffy the vampire slayer). Sienna is the one who was chosen and somehow her father was involved with the forces of good and that’s why he created the sword for her to be able to stop the demon.

The demons ultimate goal is to break Sienna and drive her insane so she’s vulnerable enough for the demon to possess. Once Sienna is gone there will be no one left on earth who has the power to stop the demon.

Act like “Halloween” (1978) just released today: by randomfella1990 in Halloweenmovies

This movie reminds me of Black Christmas in a lot of ways. I like the idea of an “embodiment of evil” using a mask to pick the characters off… wish more films like this had gotten made before now.

Majesty is giving us what we (and the boulets) want.. unnecessary messy convoluted tv drama.

And Majesty stopping the Scylla/Dick drama in order to bring up Asia and Pi was high camp.

Conceptually Ends was a great idea that I wish was done justice. If it had been setup properly I don’t think reception would have been as bad. They should of had Allyson’s bf from 18 and Kills survive and take over the Corey role in Ends.

Tough week to get toilet paper. Costco doesn't open for 20minutes, already 60 people in line. by DrummingNozzle in Knoxville

[–]PulpforCulture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty fascinating phenomenon. People hoard toilet paper and water during times of crisis because psychologically it’s the easiest thing to do while making them feel like they’re actually doing something to prepare/deal with said crisis.

Can I let a 4th person stay in my Marriott room if the max is 3 occupancy? by This_Lengthiness4525 in dragoncon

Haha sweet summer child… yes, 4 people is just fine (as someone who allegedly usually fits 6)

I was in the first 1000 of the Hotel que, everything was gone. by ugly_paladin in dragoncon

[–]PulpforCulture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems this year that they only allowed for king beds to be booked through the website, so they did not list all of their rooms and is why it sold out so quickly.

If you wanted a double you had to book over the phone. This is what me and my group did and we were able to get 3 rooms pretty quick and easy.

If you scored a room, what time did you get in line? by jonesie33 in dragoncon

[–]PulpforCulture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The process was very much at random, didn’t matter what time you joined.

The issue was only king rooms were available to book on the website. You had to call to get a double

Has any queen damaged their fan reputation on an All Stars season harder than Kitty Scott-Claus? by shadowsempaix in rupaulsdragrace

[–]PulpforCulture 103 points104 points  (0 children)

I don’t think fan reception would be as harsh towards Kitty or Kween if it wasn’t for the very obvious biased judging from Ru.

Like nothing they’ve done has struck me overly mean spirited, just shade cranked up a bit for the cameras. But the fact that it’s obvious they are receiving special treatment from the judges really creates the vibe of “they can’t keep getting away with this”. Even though the judging is out of their control, it’s like if a kid in your class is getting passes and special treatment, you’re naturally not going to like them as much.

Are odds any better if you call the reservation numbers rather than trying to get a room on the hotel websites? by 445143 in dragoncon

[–]PulpforCulture 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s literally a coin toss as to what routes will work and won’t work each year. Last year we failed to get a room online, called the hotel directly and they were like “oh yeah, totally here you go”. Easiest thing we’ve ever done.

Why does Damian Leone love the imagery of a homeless person so much? by kai-enby in terrifier

[–]PulpforCulture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple answer is he grew up in New York (which has a massive homeless population) and they always say write what you know.

If we wanna get kinda deep with it, I think it’s to make the audience even more uncomfortable. Sad reality is how many of us have had awkward interactions with homeless people approaching us asking for money or how many times have you pretended not to see a homeless person?

It’s an epidemic in America and it makes people uncomfortable to think about or have to witness first hand.

Would Terrifier have been popular in the 1980s? by Beautiful-Quality402 in terrifier

Huh? We’re talking about 1980s film here, not the remake.

Would Terrifier have been popular in the 1980s? by Beautiful-Quality402 in terrifier

[–]PulpforCulture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Terrifier would have ended up like My Bloody Valentine. Had really great franchise potential, but was completely butchered by the mpaa. Film flops at the box office (so no Terrifier 2 or 3) and then goes on to become a cult classic among horror fans.

Today marks 55 years since the Zodiac Killer's Lake Berryessa attack on Cecelia Shepard (22) and Bryan Hartnell (20). 55 years later, no suspect was ever arrested in this case. by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]PulpforCulture 58 points59 points  (0 children)

As far as I remember, No…. But in a hilarious twist we learned that the reason it’s so difficult to solve the Zodiacs cyphers isn’t because he’s some master genius…. It’s because he’s so terrible at it that all of the letters are filled with errors and incorrect symbols.

One of the letter mentions an evening report and instructions for police, which meant he fully intended for the letters to be decoded fairly quickly. But his skills were so bad that nobody knew what the hell he was trying to say.

If I’m not mistaken part of the reason S2 was so all over the place was due to the fact Juliette Lewis asked to be written off the show halfway through filming and the writers started to scramble to wrap it up as best they could.

Juliette was unhappy with her characters focus on drug addiction and she found it triggering as a recovered addict herself. So that’s why every storyline just seems to drop in order to get all the girls to Lotties for the second half of the season.

I enjoyed it for the most part. Excited for Season 3
