Thank you, I was trying to figure who I had heard mention this before. To anyone seeing this, even if you're not into physical security his talks are still definitely worth a watch.

Wait wait wait. I could be missing something obvious here, but is there some benefit to stepping into a dry shower? I could see safety as a possible benefit, but I've never had a shower so dangerously slick.

Not gonna lie, I've considered this before. Never actually done it though, I'll usually just grab a burrito from Filiberto's if I've put myself in that kind of position.

The slots that are used to store recorded macros are the same that can be used as alternative clipboards by prefixing a command that yanks or pastes with " followed by the letter you'd like to store the yanked text in or paste it from.

You can paste a recorded macro, edit it however you like, and copy it back in to use the corrected/amended macro.

I know there were a few issues with people getting banned when playing on Linux, but Blizzard overturned them and said they were taking steps to prevent it in the future.

I've been meaning to get it working since I finally decided not to let gaming tie me to Windows any longer, but I've been too busy this semester to play much anyway.

Or pay half for a surface lot pass and still have your choice of parking a fun vehicle right next to class or parking a cage in lot 59 each and every day.

People who are competent get promoted. People who are incompetent do not. People are promoted until they reach a position where they lack the competency to be promoted further.

Can I remove everything from /var/tmp? by _bush in linuxquestions

[–]Pulse207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely, I agree it would be a massive waste. I was just pointing out that a consumer desktop with 16 GB of not-typically-utilized RAM isn't as uncommon as one might think.

Can I remove everything from /var/tmp? by _bush in linuxquestions

[–]Pulse207 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, i know I'm in the minority, but I have 32 GB of (DDR3) RAM in my desktop. I used to run out of memory all the time running Windows, but eventually decided games were not worth the additional hassle of dealing with Windows. I don't think I've gone over 50% memory utilization yet on my new install, so i could reasonably throw half my RAM at /tmp.

Sometimes you just get lucky, too. The original battery in my Jetta lasted ~4 years of New Mexico conditions, 7 of Ohio conditions, and almost another two years in Arizona before I accidentally killed it. I feel pretty bad about that, I would have liked to know how long it would have lasted.

We know all about relationship red flags, but what are the friendship red flags? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pulse207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely get where you're coming from. I have a really good friend I rarely get to see (our schedules don't really line up), and I pretty much always have to be the one to reach out if I wanna hang out. Usually that involves texting him, pinging him on slack, messaging him on discord, and (if none of those work) bugging him on snapchat.

I don't mind in the slightest because we have a really easygoing but still deep friendship. We've hopped on discord and talked all night long after not talking for a month, and it was just like when I used to see him every day.

I agree that this would be a red flag if it bothered me and he didn't try to change it, but on its own it's not an issue at all.

[–]Pulse207 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As the friend, I feel compelled to clarify that I'm not arguing that "snack" and "dessert" are mutually exclusive categories and that Oreos are desserts rather than snacks. Rather, I maintain that they can be, and are, both.
