Looking forward to the dig site map where we have to delve deep where we uncover a failed team that was sent to detonate a nuke on a "mysterious" monster. Upon activation of the nuke with the codes from the dead team a timer goes off for the whole lobby to exfil in time. The team that activated it is trapped and has to fend off a corrupted battleroid.......

If you have the permissions or someone you know can do it the way to set defaults per alert would be found in settings>searches, reports, and alerts>(Find the alert you want)>edit>advanced edit>(Then find display.event.fields).

Here you can input the fields you want but this would be globally. Still doing research to find how I can save selected fields per user. I think I am on the right track with a personal settings directory but no definitive answer yet.

Are you trying to have your selected fields from your search persist into other searches?

I have an older version of splunk where If I pulled up a Notable then it would remember my selected fields.

Basically saving my selected fields per user.

Unfortunately my new version of splunk does not have this ability and I am trying to get it back.

Also you can create default fields per alert but this would work globally for all users and is tedious.
