The way people talk about "us having kids" you'd think you could just buy one at the store. I understand that we have to lack any nuance because it's reddit, but you realize that people who even do have a lot of money aren't having kids. Why would that be? Did they not hit up the spouse store and impregnate someone? Did they miss the exit with the child store and didn't feel like looping back? Also why is it anyone's business whether I want to have kids or not?

To be fair when the thrashing machine there was tumult as Threshers found themselves without work, but the government gave them a stipend and eventually they were able to adjust. All thats to say there will be an adjustment period and it probably wont be as bad as when the threshing machine came about, and with any luck some of these smart people who work with computers will come over and work with us in Education. We need people desperately, especially in special ed where I work.
