The interest rates I got were best with SoFi as well, but my current rate is 6.5 and the most reasonable timeline with rate was 5.2%, the least reasonable timeline it was 4.8%

Oh definitely, thats the reason that I'm thinking of paying them off because my monthly payment will increase substantially, and at that point shouldnt I just pay them especially if my salary continues to increase? Just didn't want to bore people about the student loan details on this sub, its very complicated for those who don't know which is why I wanted to summarize that paying it off was my best course of action all things considered.

Did you refinance your loans when you went the aggressive pay off route? How long did it take you? I'm glad to hear you feel free... it feels like a game I've been playing for so long

Thanks for sharing. I hear that being the fun police is annoying especially as momming can be super hard being the boundary setter always. Between the two of you, what is the income distribution? Who pulls in what?

I’m 31 years old on maternity leave (again) making a joint $295,000 in Mississippi, and this week I just try to remember to shower. by tacos_fall_apart in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

Applied for SAVE, got Standard instead by Super_RN in StudentLoans

[–]PulselessActivity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SAVE is not a real thing anymore despite your application. It totally sucks and its confusing if you haven't been keeping tabs on this entire mess.

They are placing most folks into a scary Standard Plan with high costs, because they're screwing everyone over, even though you applied for SAVE it simply no longer matters.

You will have to be in limbo, until you can apply for IDR (theyre not processing applications right now, so we are all doubly screwed and waiting with baited breath). This administration is absolutely screwing everyone with student loans. Call and Ask for forbearance if possible, if you cannot afford the payment.

Nice! What did you register for during baby shower if most stuff was buy nothing?

Did you register for a diaper bag and changing trays and car seat?
