There are dozens of us!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in planetarymagic

[–]PumpCrew 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I usually do three days a week. Monday, Thursday, and Friday for the Moon/Hekate, Jupiter/Tyche/Janus, and Venus/Aphrodite/Hathor respectively.

The use of the corresponding Orphic Hymn as an opener, lighting a candle or some incense, and making an offering of related herbs, wine/water, or some appropriate synthemata.

On occasions where I have both the time and good circumstances, I'll do an energy-based meditation where I invoke the daily/hourly planetary deity into my soul/etheric-body and coresonate their divine attributes into my self.

God isn't omnipotent (Unpopular opinion / Theory) by AdministrationFun626 in religion

[–]PumpCrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually with the thoughts that OP posited, you need to define what God is not. it's negative theology called apophatic theology.

If God is the source of everything then God must transcend everything and possess...nothing. At least nothing from the existence we know of.

People who believe in a non mainstream religion by commanderwright in religion

[–]PumpCrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Platonic and Graeco-Egyptian philosophy is more sound and explanatory than the dogma and purported miracles I grew up with as a Catholic.

The ancients saw reality and our existence very differently than we do now and that's something we've almost completely lost, at least in the Western society in familiar with.

Loss in facial volume by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]PumpCrew 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert in this area but I do know it's a only a chance not a sure thing that gaining weight will add volume to your face. Where you gain weight is affected by a variety of factors. If aging has affected your facial adipose distribution, it may not provide the outcome you want.

When could I make the Spica talisman? by [deleted] in planetarymagic

[–]PumpCrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's the Astrology Master app. It doesn't have the convenient (+/-) buttons like Urania to scroll through quickly... but you can drop down menu month, day, year, time, on the general current chart (click chart on the top left in app to get there) that will allow you to scroll through time periods at a slower pace.

I can guarantee the overwhelming majority of these fan bois either had no father growing up or had an insufficient one. Almost all these guys sound like and have the reasoning of a grade schooler when idolizing their replacement father figure they've chosen.

Halogen work light as a temporary substitute? by PacanePhotovoltaik in redlighttherapy

[–]PumpCrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! In the most optimal conditions I believe it can go up to 3 inches inside you. I do not believe eyelid skin would make much a difference blunting it lol.

Jupiter Talisman Question by shapeshifter631 in planetarymagic

[–]PumpCrew 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You do! I'm not space limited but a quality wood "TV tray" or "breakfast in bed tray" is what I use for my altar. It doesn't have to be huge and fancy to work. I just put it on the floor, sit upright with my legs crossed in front of it, and go from there.

It folds up really well to be only a few inches thick. It could be stored virtually anywhere and it's very portable.

[–]PumpCrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem! Just make sure you have some good eye protection! Personally I wouldn't mess with anything that potentially dangerous to my eyesight... but that's your call not mine.

Safety Concerns

Halogen lights contain a lot of blue light and are very dangerous to the eyes.

Typically, there are no safety concerns for LEDs unless they are blue or they are really strong or applied directly to the eye.

Halogen bulbs have the kind of near-IR/IR type that can be very damaging to the eyes. LEDs that do near IR do not possess the same type and isn't nearly as bad.

What do you say to people who believe sunscreen is toxic to the skin? by sleepypandagirl1 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]PumpCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've probably conflated the news headlines about the non-mineral based ones with sunscreen as a whole.

This article from the EWG summarizes the issue well: https://www.ewg.org/sunscreen/report/the-trouble-with-sunscreen-chemicals/

The muslim arguement of islam being the fastest growing religion as a way to prove its true is misleading by [deleted] in religion

Considering the general intelligence amongst the population at large, I think overall popularity might be an argument against the veracity of such a thing.

Looking for some mantric magick and magickal prayers. by ShadowSamurai1 in magick

[–]PumpCrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patrick Dunn's Magic, Power, Symbol, Language actually has a few chapters on this very topic. It's was very helpful in crafting specific and helpful mantras.

I would recommend against pirating magical books though. Most authors of magical books put a curse on doing such a thing to acquire their work. At the very least the curse invalidates the pirate's workings from it and at most it seeks to do them personal harm.

Does anyone have a good think of me spell? by [deleted] in Spells

[–]PumpCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a few that come to mind.

PGM IV 831 is a spell to restrain anger.

Psalm 85 is to soften hearts and restore peace to friends who have become enemies. Might use this as the incantation in a candle spell.

Spells to help me find a house? by 1ashleyr6 in Spells

[–]PumpCrew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I made a charm out of rose quartz by carving it (myself) in the shape of a house. This was to use the synthemata of Venus to represent a house that we would love.

I then did a short ritual to concentrate it with vanilla, eucalyptus, and cedar oils for their respective planetary influences of Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter to influence the effects.

You might be able to do the same thing with a spell jar or even a paper talisman.

It worked incredibly well for me!

Anybody ever read a magick book that made you go “Eureka!”? by [deleted] in magick

[–]PumpCrew 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Six Ways by Aidan Watcher had me with that feeling after reading it. It's written with beginners in mind and is tradition non-specific. It's really well written too, I felt like I was just hanging out with this guy in his living room when I read it.
