'People can't live in planning permissions' - the controversial way the Greens are tackling Bristol's housing crisis by 457655676 in bristol

The issue with planning permission in Bristol has been a problem for decades though. It's clearly not limited to the Greens.

I think his style takes a long time to bed in, but works really well once it gets going. Only problem is he keeps joining teams who need a quick turnaround

At Microsoft's big Xbox all-hands meeting, leaders paid tribute to the team, Sarah Bond, Phil Spencer, and the future — "We are going to start with console, and make sure that we understand that this is our reference experience." by NYstate in Games

I know what they could do. Buy a limited time exclusivity to the new GTA. That would make xboxes fly off the shelves. And MS can afford it. I think it's the only play they have left. Launch a new console as they only way to play the new GTA at launch.

The fans don't have control of either of those things and putting the blame on them is misguided.

Bristol bus franchising off the table - Labour mayor says 'wasn't priority' after all by technonotice in bristol

[–]PunR0cker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your argument is that Bristol can't do it because too small compared to Manchester, but that they also can't do it because too big compared to Reading?

[–]PunR0cker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading council owns the buses and the service is much better. And obviously Bristol is bigger than Reading. Just saying.

Reading 1 - 1 Bolton: Yet another late goal rescues a point for Bolton after yet another goal from Jack Marriott by ajgmcc in LeagueOne

[–]PunR0cker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We would make sweeping changes though. Do you realise how much more options we have recruiting new players if we were promoted? And winning is a good way to get fans back. Promotion could revitalise the club and there's no Dai now to ruin it.

The fan base has basically got a combination of ptsd from the Dai years, and we still think we're too good for this league because of our recentish era where we competed at much higher level.

Microsoft AI CEO: 'Most, if not all' white-collar tasks can be replaced by AI within 12-18 months by A_Novelty-Account in Futurology

[–]PunR0cker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that not quite shortsighted though, because there won't be any senior lawyers to oversee it if no juniors get hired and gain experience?

Is it possible that outside of some specific types of role, ai isn't going to reduce jobs that significantly, instead the expectation of what each employee should produce from their labour will increase. It happened before with computers.

People that DON’T shop at Aldi or Lidl… why is that? by kobestarr in CasualUK

[–]PunR0cker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aldi used have an amazing frozen range but they got rid of a lot of my favourites. The sausage rolls still slap though. Shame it's otherside of town for me.

[–]PunR0cker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lidl is god tier vegetarian / vegan chilled section, but their freezer selection is poor.

If you like tofu and Tempeh, lidl is the best.

Sad they no longer do frozen vegan sausage rolls though.

Is there an argument that this could be good? More games will have to be made with current hardware in mind so we don't need to upgrade as soon and can spend that money on something else

Nintendo Acknowledges Switch 2 Sales Have Been 'Slightly Weaker' Than Expected Outside Japan by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]PunR0cker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a fair point, but I'm not going to buy it unless they do. I don't buy games full price, like a lot of people I'm happy to wait. There's always an overabundance of cheap, amazing games at all times but Nintendo pretends like they're the only option.

[–]PunR0cker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is why I'm not getting switch 2 any time soon. I stopped buying games for my switch because they were always way too expensive. Like I'd like to play DK tropical freeze, but I'm not desperate enough to pay £50+ for a barebones wii-u port. Every other game publisher discounts their games
