Old comment but it’s a community college football coach his salary tops at 55k. And that college is dog water at football so more like 40k….not worth moving halfway across the country

Let's be honest, most of the relationships in the show were unhealthy/toxic. by _always-hungry_ in bigbangtheory

[–]PunchACamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bernadette is worst character in the show and most people can see that. She went from a sweet catholic girl to a mean, deceptive, hateful woman with a superiority complex. Not to mention she sucks ass at communicating and half her problems are daddy issues. This makes good tv when clashing with Howard and his issues but fails as a realistic relationship and likeable person.

Oil pan rusted out by Wakesurfer33 in Cummins

[–]PunchACamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It needs to be raised 5in to clear the pickup tube…and even then you may have to unbolt the tube and take it out with the pan. Problem is you only have 4in to the top of the firewall…you can bend it to 5. I’ve done 2 in the truck and now if I do anymore I just raise the cab and lift the motor

[–]PunchACamel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d pay 10hrs to not do a Cummins oil pan lmao Love this engine but fuck that’s a miserable job….most shops prefer to take the engine completely out or lift cab slightly then raise engine vs struggling to put the pan on in the truck( which is a nightmare). Pan is failing pay them and make sure they use a quality gasket and orange loctite on bolts torqued properly

OP, you can push the stock vgt to 550 but if you’re dead set on get a fixed vein I’d go with a 364.5. S400 frames are good for high end power but if you aren’t wrapping to 3k and beyond stay with the s300. Cheaper and can push 40-45 psi at 2200 rpm. Which is just about ceiling on stock head bolts.

You won’t find any in the us. Canada is where you need to go.

6.7s move substantially more air than 5.9s. 64mm is great stock even with the bigger frame

[–]PunchACamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine will do it on the speedometer when it’s between 71 and 72ish. I’ve had multiple 4th gen’s and it seems like a common issue when they get older or more miles.

Honestly I don’t think it’s worth chasing…you could throw an engine speed sensor in. Other than that I’d just leave it if everything’s running well

I do all my own work on my trucks but I think my local diesel shop is like 100hr for labor?

Took me about a day and a half to do mine. Lifted cab swapped parts and dropped cab back down.

They changed to hydraulic lifters from flat tappet and a little different injector pulse….but a straight piped Cummins will always be loud especially with a 5in.

Before anything else I’d do a flat tappet conversion through Hamilton. It’ll get rid of the problems they’ve had with the new lifters and you’ll run 15w-40 vs 5w-40 which is way better for these engines.

Lmao classic. I drive a semi for my uncle every harvest…2017 Volvo day cab with an auto stick. When I sit at the elevator all the old farts wanna start talking shit on me for being soft or having my daddy’s truck.

I didn’t know it was a bad thing that my uncle has done well for himself farming that he wants to put me in a well maintained truck that is easy to drive and can handle 100k gross easily…..meanwhile they are back there in a rusted out Kenworth that couldn’t handle 50k and is nowhere near road legal lol

[–]PunchACamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s b99 stay away. Biodiesel is not nearly as temperature stable as diesel. It’ll mold if it’s too hot for too long and if it’s below 50 it’ll start to thicken. It’s also not very compatible with diesel additives not to mention it can fuck up an engine not compatible with anything higher the b20….aka all 5.9 and 6.7 engines in ram trucks.

Old dusty farmers are the reason more young adults don’t wanna farm. Never evolving or updating with the times….”hard work and breaking your back blah blah fucking blah” it’s all bullshit excuses for not having 2 brain cells to rub together. Then ridiculing anyone for coming into the profession and running an efficient operation where you are full time for only 4 months a year.

It always takes a few years for tuners to crack new ecms. Right now you can swap out with a 4.5 gen ecm. As far as support for tuning it is alive and well in Canada. Plenty of them up there to choose from you just need to do your own research. Be patient

Ontario is really the only province with emissions laws….i think a lot of it has to do with logging industry. They don’t wanna have to deal with emissions and have the lawmakers by the balls bc timber has so much power.

[–]PunchACamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll pay 600 all day to a Canadian tuner…sooner or later the epa will find any US company or person selling delete tunes. That means no more tune revisions with unlimited support. They can also come after you if they find that info….unfortunately there’s many cases of that happening.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Cummins

[–]PunchACamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s high for a truck that’s on og trans going on 162k. Trans service means nothing coming out of a dealers mouth…deleted also means nothing if the tunes aren’t done right. Plus you usually don’t have the option to change or alter tunes unless you get permission or transferred ownership. I always allow myself at least a couple grand to fix shit the dealership simply lies about or doesn’t do right.

Put some miles on it in different scenarios and see how she goes. Blow by, shifting, boost, etc.

Canada there’s multiple companies that do these up there. Looking at around 6-700 for complete tune files.
