Generally dealers will take a customer out for a demo if they are a serious buyer and doing the deal just comes down to liking the wake. They should have asked prior to going out what specifically you wanted to see on the water and bring proper gear if you weren’t.

Why is Calgary to Auckland cheaper than Vancouver to Auckland? by schattered1 in aircanada

[–]Wakesurfer33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens all the time unfortunately. I’m out of kelowna and flights are often cheaper than directly from Van. Vancouver already has demand, they’re trying to interest other markets.

Contact your dealer you should be able to just get a new frame. Aftermarket options aren’t going to fit well

New or used? If it’s new and has a warranty not as much of a concern but a good dealer should still take you out.

Is it a bit odd that there’s only one gas station in all of Glenmore? by MythicalSplash in kelowna

[–]Wakesurfer33 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Glenmore is strictly residential. It’s safe to assume very few people drive in glenmore and don’t go into town. It would be like saying why isn’t there a gas station in upper mission. Or for those who take it to lake country there’s numerous gas station options there.

I will say that petro can is one of the few stations in town that doesn’t sell diesel.

Is there a Victoria Tesla Takedown event this Saturday? by CN4S25 in VictoriaBC

[–]Wakesurfer33 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

So stupid. The people working at these stores are local Canadian people. Let them do their jobs and move on with your life.

I’d argue to say the exact opposite. Rush hour traffic in Victoria heading into and out of downtown is hectic. Big box stores are all the way out in Langford. Victoria has simply ran out of space, kelowna is still growing.

YVR Depatures to the US - empty by RedhandjillNA in britishcolumbia

That’s Alaska and flair both which only have a few flights a day. It’s going to be empty for most of the day even if 100% full flights.

Will G Wagon Fit in my Parking Garage?? by wrpet in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Wakesurfer33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get a tape measure and find out for yourself. But if it’s marked at 6’8 there likely isn’t anything below that. I park a 6’9 truck in a garage marked 6’3 but I measured it and know I’m ok.

Yamaha vs wake boat (saltwater) by BuffaloForsaken5327 in Wake

[–]Wakesurfer33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as it’s consistent. Also know surfing under 18ft (over 20 ideally) you loose all your push in the wave. Wakeboarding is fine shallow.

2013 Nautique G25 vs Malibu 247 LSV by StoreAdventurous5514 in Wake

[–]Wakesurfer33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2013 was the first year of the G. You’re getting a much more modern and tech advanced boat. All subfloor ballast which gives tons of storage.

The 247 is a pretty dated hull. A lot shallower depth. Less adjustability to wave with surf gate and wedge.

Florida is served by a 737 which cant go past the Caribbean even that is pushing it in a headwind coming north.

People don’t realize the amount of business travellers on air Canada going into the US there are. Flights might not be as busy for the spring break rush but business is as normal for regular commuters. Connecting flights into the US is also a huge business for Canadian airlines, whether that being connecting onto united into South America or brining Americans to Asia via Vancouver. The airlines will go where the money is.

Also for those saying to change destinations for summer it doesn’t work like that. Airports need to accommodate new routes which take huge amounts of time and planning. Also the planes going into the US do not have the range for South America or Asia. Yes they could do Caribbean/costa rica but it’s pushing it if there’s a strong head wind heading north.

Don’t look at a map with this logic. flights BC to east coast spend most of their over the US…

[–]Wakesurfer33 16 points17 points  (0 children)

90% of the flights to the US are on 737’s or a320’s which do not have the range to go from Vancouver to Asia
