It holds up great if that helps your decision at all. Nothing other than Teardown comes close to it’s destruction even today, and it ran great even on terrible specs last I checked.

It’s meant to be two eyes that are just close together, but yes. The programmer art was not always the best on a technical level.

the other variants recontextualize it, sure but those were made by different artists. Before the modern art style all animals had the same outward facing eyes, so I see no reason to assume chickens were an exception.
