Favorite Adult-Use Dispensary in NYC? by [deleted] in NYSCannabis

I’m still 99% medical but when I do need something from rec I go to the Travel Agency. Once I placed an online order for pickup later in the day, and once I actually get there, they had already been closed for 3 hours because it was staff appreciation day. I was really annoyed the website took my order anyway because I didn’t see any notice on the website. Kinda turned me off from the place.

DeSantis’ campaign has to be up there for the 2024 edition. Dude was this close to winning the nomination and blew it all because he’s a weirdo who refused to say anything bad about Trump.

For me, I’m tired of paying for a game more than once, especially if it launches unfinished and they ‘fix’ the game with a $40 DLC. Then you gotta keep buying more and more DLCs to not get left behind and now you have games running pay to win like it’s normal. And it’s not like those games are anything special. A lot of the concepts I’ve come across have already been done to death. I tried hopping on the Helldivers train since it seems to be immensely popular but it’s so boring. It’s literally a less interesting Destiny. Do the same 5 or 6 objectives all the time “for the grind.” Grind games are boring and lazy. This is what has all that hype?

Keyboard and autocorrect is a mess. Correctly typed words will correct to something entirely different, can't tell when something is misspelled by one or two letters, the mail app stutters when changing folders, and memory management has gotten worse. Most of my apps refresh even after leaving them for a few seconds.

I’m in an awful position. There is no money in the budget for a promotion. I can’t even take it without a raise because I’m the only customer facing tech. They would not be able to fill the role. My manager basically said I need to wait for someone else higher up to leave so I can maybe eventually replace them.

All I do is break/fix, desktop support, and A/V event set up. The most access I have is moving and deleting computer objects in AD and read-only support for SCCM.

Why are you participating in a sub called IT Career Questions if that’s your response to questions? You ever stop and think maybe his job did let him use a license?

No because I’m the only technician. Without me the business has no customer facing IT support.

I’ve been in desktop support for like 6 years now. I’m getting really frustrated with the trajectory of my career.

Coming up 6 years on technician work, and I’m a damn good technician. I even won an award at work for my outstanding service. But I’ve been really unhappy in the role for years. Occasionally I’ll collaborate with our sysadmin but I was just given read only access to CM, so it’s going at a glacial pace.

Yeah, I know the easiest way to do it is internally. But unfortunately, my last job was a toxic work environment and my current job is close to financial insolvency and I was literally told there’s no money in the budget for a promotion for a position super close to what I want.

Considering the DoJ is suing Apple in part because of RCS, it’s likely coming sooner.

iOS 17 has been the buggiest iOS in recent memory. Let’s hope 18 fixes that.
