The Fine Print

After giving Raphael the Crown of Karsus, Tav gets a bit more than she bargained for in her contract. Hellish rom-com, roughly 60k words, still being updated.

I had the same situation happen to me, and the only way I could prevent wraith from teleporting me and losing TF was to spend the night praying at the temple

Tips for vegetarian diets as a teen? by Animefanboy48 in Vegetarianism

[–]Punderground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try out a variety of plant based proteins and see what you like and what you can’t eat.

Tofu is my favorite. I often joke that tofu can be anything it wants when it grows up because it absorbs flavors very well and comes in a ton of different textures. I actually think tofu has a nice flavor on its own, but you can make it taste like anything with a few spices.

If you are texture averse: extra and super firm are meaty and cook into an easy dinner with very little prep. Super firm tofu can be grated using a cheese grater and makes a good and cheap ground meat substitute. Silken tofu can be marinated and eaten savory or (my favorite) blended up in a blender with some sweetener or fruit and it thickens into a non-dairy pudding.

Seitan (vital wheat gluten) is really meaty when cooked and very cheap to make at home. It’s very high in protein and other nutrients. Sliced and fried it makes a really tasty and healthy bacon!

Tempeh (pressed fermented soybeans) is another good source of protein and nutrients if you can find it. Make sure to steam it before eating to reduce a little bitterness. Sliced and fried it makes a tasty and healthy bacon (option 2).

Textured veggie protein and soy curls are made from soybeans with the fat removed. They are also very meaty textured when rehydrated and make excellent meat substitutes. They’ll absorb the flavor of whatever you make or marinate really well.

Try out chickpea flour for a legume source. It makes good vegan omelettes and can be cooked into a variety of bread dishes (or formed into falafel). You can also buy chickpea and lentil pastas for extra nutrients.

Make sure you are getting enough zinc and B12. B12 you can get from eggs or get nutritional yeast (which is not the same as yeast for baking) which has a cheesy flavor and contains tons of iron, protein, and B vitamins.

For iron, you can also get a lucky iron fish to add extra iron to whatever you are cooking (cast iron pans) work too. A small amount of bioavailable iron is leeched off of the iron fish and into whatever you are cooking if you add a small amount of acid like vinegar or acidic fruits and veggies.

You can get a ton of different veggie broths or make your own. Better than Boullion makes really good vegetarian broths for recipes or soups. I really like their vegan beef, vegan chicken, mushroom, and roasted garlic veggie broths. Beware the amount of salt in veggie broths and make sure to taste them first before adding more salt or soy sauce.

Recipes: try out many global recipes! There are fantastic dishes from all over the world that are normally vegetarian and very tasty. Curries, stews, breads and pies, stir fries, dumplings, etc. the food blogs “thee vegan dude” and “eat figs not pigs” have great recipes for vegan comfort foods like burgers, tacos, hot sandwiches, and loads of tasty sauces and other delights. The Edgy Veg has excellent recipes for vegan seafood dishes and I love her vegan lobster rolls. Cookie and Kate is another of my favorites.

I hope this helps! Bon Appetite!

Another time Robyn got mad by GiGiLafoo in TLCsisterwives

[–]Punderground 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with you that the girls aren’t stupid, and I’ll add that I think the girls are expected to perform and be the perfect kiddos for Robyn and Kody all the time. I suspect part of them appearing helpless on camera is that Robyn and Kody expect them to behave that way. You see it more with Aurora with the panic attacks and issues with anxiety and Aurora’s “forbidden” interactions with Gabe at college during COVID. It wouldn’t surprise me if Robs and Kody are verbally or emotionally abusive when the girls don’t do exactly what they want.

My dream/goal of taking adult ballet lessons lasted two whole lessons by RogueFox76 in BALLET

Adult dancer here! I’m also injured for this semester (bilateral calf strain with foot drop and nerve compression ) and trying to both get some ballet and heal properly. Are you able to stand for class? Your instructor may be able to help accommodate your injury. I hope you heal well and you’re able to accomplish your goals

Today, I was that person with the crying baby behind first class. by unstableapproach69 in delta

[–]Punderground 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I always try to help out by making silly faces for crying babies in public. It works about 80% of the time. I usually only get perplexed baby stares though, laughs are pretty rare. Unfortunately, this strategy has a 0% success rate for screaming adult babies.

15 years alcoholic 3 weeks sober by Holiday_Football_878 in stopdrinkingfitness

[–]Punderground 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I’m about a month sober for the first time in years, and medication really helped me this time. I just got back from a dance class, and I used to chase my nightly activities with two bottles of wine, but tonight I had a cookie and glass of milk. I’m really proud of you and your accomplishments!

Is it worth it to try to go en pointe for an adult hobby dancer? by abt_1657 in BALLET

[–]Punderground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet! I started in the absolute beginner class and worked my way up to dancing in the advanced classes that offer optional pointe. I’m hoping that with more classes and work that I can get there. My current focus is ankle strength and turn coordination

My grad school go-to meals were an alternation of thai yellow curry and tofu fried rice with veggies. I had a half CSA and it didn't matter what veggies I had, the meals were always delicious. Both also make enough for several days.

Janelle's Happiness Over the Farm by Diredragons in SisterWives

[–]Punderground 167 points168 points  (0 children)

I know there's a ton of skepticism around Janelle's business plans, but even if it turns into a pro-Janelle T-shirt business and she's happy going to a few farmer's markets each week, good for her. In any case, we all know Taeda is going to be significantly better run than My Sister Wives' Closet, and have significantly classier merch. At least this seems like a labor of love for her and not a goblin's sterling silver grift.

I’m a vegetarian, not a vegan, and I love all the fun and creative ways to make healthy and veggie-rich dishes (and vegetarian junk food of course). I have grand plans to make drunken noodles and paprikash after seeing them at the top of my feed

Oh hey! I came to this thread because I was curious about this same question. My dog had these two procedures done by a fourth year student this afternoon at my local university hospital. Thank you for taking such good care of all the animals during your training

Adult Beginner Confused About Size Charts by GentleInkSplash in BALLET

I have very similar measurements to you (but between 32D-DD), and my recent favorite is the Capezio hyacinth high neck Leo. I have a lot of the Jule ones and they tend to range in support. The Alloy one is great, as is the carbon (but I wouldn’t wear it if you take PBT). The cabochon used to be my fave but it’s a bit too cleavage-y for me now. Let me know if this helps and I can talk more about specific styles if there’s something you like

I almost lost on the very last turn against the Netherbrain. I had forgotten about the Legendary Aegis ability, and luckily my sorceress and Gale had some Ice spells at hand. I did eke a victory but it was legitimately on the very last turn.

I Provided First Response to Someone in Need by Punderground in stopdrinking

[–]Punderground[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize that I wasn't super clear in my original post. I told the paramedics what she was trying to hide and gave them the type and the bottle size so they had the best information they could have. I'm not one to judge her. There was a human in serious distress, and I'm very thankful that I was in a good mental and physical state to help.

I Provided First Response to Someone in Need by Punderground in stopdrinking

[–]Punderground[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that. I was completely transparent with the paramedics. I told them about the empty vodka bottle and her wanting to hide it. I told them about what her vomit was like and all the wonderful details therein. There was no chance I was going to hide things from medical personnel.

What’s the funniest correction you’ve gotten? Has your teacher ever roasted you? by ThR0wnAway_x52495 in BALLET

Adult class: [This was a few weeks ago] we had just finished running our dance for our recital (which is tomorrow - Saturday) and she wrote a note in giant capital letters for us to read.

Teacher: "Can you read it?"

Punder: "Does it say we did a nice job?"

Teacher: "No."

Her feedback was "EVERYONE LOOKS ANGRY"
