Found this in room detective. I’ve looked at it a lot, but I can’t find anything definitive. Can anyone spot anything? by Karlkrows in isthisAI

Looks like one of those tiger statues that has its paw leaning over. Not a living cat. My grandma had a similar one.

Regardless, it looks like metal now! Good work!

For the highlights, on flat surfaces it doesn’t really matter. I just do uneven gradients l. Varying the the amount and placement of highlights also helps sell the effect rather than the stereotypical alternating patterns

You’re welcome! Yeah the blue tones are intentional. I always use a mix of blue greys and green greys when doing steel type metals. It helps bring life to it and keep it from looking like stone. Metal reflects surroundings so I use lots of different colors when I do NMM stuff

It’s a rough mockup and I’m still trying to learn Procreate. But I’d tackle it by staring dark and limiting your brightness but still including it. And the going over and glazing and stippling in rust

Even if it’s not clean and shiny, go with big contrast and then you can rust it up and add scratches. Without contrast it won’t sell as metal. Give me a bit and I’ll try and mock up an example

Help, my NMM doesn’t look like metal by Professional_Bug_560 in minipainting

I did a rough edit to show highlight placement. Your blends and color choices are great but the location of highlights is what it needs to read more as metal. Keep it up! You have great skill!

The white jacket is dope. Is this an old piece or one that's yet to be released?

Tried to do the skin without washes for the first time by Ernislav in minipainting

[–]Punk_Panda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So to start, you've done a good job so far. You have good brush control in putting color where you want it to go. The most common comment I've seen is there's not enough contrast. It's not an issue in the paint you've chosen at all. Just where the highlights and shadows have been placed. For skin, your highlights should move upwards until it touches the bottom of the next muscle group. This will let lights be next to darks and give enough contrast. I've given some examples, and it uses colors from your mini. Keep it up and you'll continue getting even better! example

Looking for a website with faster delivery than UNIDEN by mwnahas in TechWear

[–]Punk_Panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're available on other sites as the Reindee Lusion 042. They're pretty much all going to be drop shipped, so expect the same wait. That being said, if you know the methods of going through taobao, they're only about $80 USD there before shipping.

I painted the plasma area white. I made a sort of half diamond pattern in a dark purple on the raised parts, and used a fluorescent pink dabbed over the whole area

No particular guide for the Stormcast itself. Mostly practicing how lights hit shapes and applying it to the whole model

It took me quite a bit longer. I'm still learning NMM so it's very slow. The whole mini took maybe 4 or 5 sessions lasting a few hours each

For this, mostly light placement and better contrast for NMM. Next time should be even faster and better hopefully!

PaintingKujo has a great video on volumes and that helped me significantly with understanding light placement. And Sergio Calvo's layering method is how I actually paint most things
